SLTV StarSeries concludes tomorrow

SLTV StarSeries IX's online portion will conclude tomorrow and the four teams for the finals on May 2-4 will already be known tonight.

With two playdays remaining in SLTV StarSeries' ninth season, there are still five teams competing for the four spots at the finals on May 2-4, where a staggering $30,000 will be given out.

Na`Vi are the team looking in from the outside. They currently hold the third place in the rankings, but having already played out their fourteen games, their fate is now in the hands of others.

Team Record Points
Sweden NiP 12-0-2 36
Poland Virtus.pro 10-2-2 32
Ukraine Natus Vincere 10-1-3 31
France Titan 10-1-2 31
Sweden fnatic 9-3-1 30

If Clan-Mystik defeats both fnatic and Titan tonight, Na`Vi goes to the playoffs. Due to holding the head-to-head tiebreaker over both sides, the CIS-based team will also make the finals if CM splits their games, though a draw would be enough for Titan..

For fnatic tonight's game against Kenny "kennyS" Schrub is a must-win. If they lose, they are out. Titan have one more point in the standings than fnatic, so even if they lose, they will make the finals if fnatic also loses.

HaRts' Clan-Mystik will determine the fate of Natus Vincere tonight

NiP are the only team who has guaranteed their seeding as number one. Virtus may still fall all the way down to fourth if both Titan and fnatic win tonight, so seeds two through four are still in play.

With seven SLTV StarSeries IX matches to be played tonight, the evening is full of action. There are also four games tomorrow, determining who stays in the league for its next season.

Monday, April 14
17:00 France LDLC vs. Estonia MayaM
18:00 Sweden fnatic vs. France Clan-Mystik
19:00 Poland Dobry vs. Germany mousesports
20:00 France Clan-Mystik vs. Russia ACES
20:00 Germany ALTERNATE vs. France LDLC
21:00 France LDLC vs. Russia ACES
22:00 France Titan vs. France Clan-Mystik

Tuesday, April 15
19:00 Poland Dobry vs. Germany ALTERNATE
20:00 France Clan-Mystik vs. Estonia MayaM
21:00 France Clan-Mystik vs. Portugal k1ck
22:00 Portugal k1ck vs. Russia ACES

GamePub, who disbanded just under a month ago, have already dropped out of SLTV. Former Courage, now known as Hashtag, are also out as they've already played all their games.

With four teams dropping out, that leaves two more to go. Currently k1ck and ACES are in those places, but the Portuguese could still retain their spot with victories over both CM and ACES.

Team Record Points
Germany ALTERNATE 4-0-8 12
Germany mousesports 4-0-9 12
France Clan-Mystik 4-0-5 12
Poland Dobry 3-1-8 10
Ukraine Hashtag 1-2-11 5
Portugal k1ck 1-2-9 5
Russia ACES 1-0-10 3
Serbia GamePub - 0

ACES would require three wins in their matches against Clan-Mystik, LDLC and k1ck to stay in SLTV StarSeries for season X. Next teams in line in danger of getting knocked out are Dobry, Clan-Mystik, mousesports and ALTERNATE.

SLTV StarSeries IX's online portion will conclude tomorrow, just in time for Copenhagen Games, but the season will truly finish only at the finals on May 2-4, which HLTV.org will cover.

Kind of disappointing not seeing HR going, but I suppose it's their fault for playing like shit every single fucking online game.

i wouldn't say they play like shit every online game, they have scored a number of wins over nip for example. they are just ridiculously inconsistent.

because they can't make the finals or drop out of the league, which is what those partial standings are for. you can see them in the full standings, which are linked in the post.

I guess it was an overstatement, but for a good number of their games they do play very poorly. Their only strength seems to be their ability to serve as kryptonite against NiP, though after their 1 round performance on CT side inferno leading to NiP coming back and winning 16-14 last week, as well as HR consistently struggling against weaker teams (losing many rounds or tying), I can't say anyone's surprised they didn't qualify for finals. Their performance on LAN is usually a lot better – except in the Voronezh Cup, though that has many factors affecting their performance.

it's usually slightly better, but not by a lot. they placed 5-8th at dreamhack winter, losing to underdogs complexity, and 5-8th at ems one katowice, losing to dignitas. voronezh shouldn't count because markeloff wasn't present. the fact is, hellraisers are a very inconsistent team with a low basement and a high ceiling in terms of potential.

Yeah, I guess "inconsistent" is truly the best word to describe the HR core. They are capable of beating teams like Titan and NiP on LAN (and the latter online) but they'll lose to teams they shouldn't be losing to. Even without markeloff, it should have been like playing a 4v5 situation with a BOT, lol. Expected more but oh well

It's usually a lot better than how they do online, like how they don't lose many rounds or tie to weak teams. Well, except the Voronezh Cup :P

so fnatic win = they go through no matter what, its just titan can finish above them. Wait, if there is no ties in starladder then how come fnatic got 3 draws?
