Titan change shox for kennyS

Titan have just released a shocking announcement, Richard "shox" Papillon has departed the squad, while Kenny "kennyS" Schrub will take his place in the roster.

Titan have been considered at least a top two team throughout the last year as they have consistently placed inside of the top three at most tournaments they attended.

That was until their last two events, where the team has on the first occasion, EMS One Katowice, failed to qualify for the playoffs following losses to Virtus.pro and HellRaisers.

We won't be seeing shox with Titan anymore

That would have been understandable, as it seemed like that was only a one-time-thing, especially considering their convincing DreamHack Stockholm Invitational win.

After Titan's Copenhagen Games loss to their countrymen LDLC though, and thus the fifth to eighth finish, things started looking worrisome for the elite French-Belgian team.

That resulted in a lineup change which comes as a shock to the whole community, as we see the team's best player, Richard "shox" Papillon, depart the lineup. Replacing him will be Clan-Mystik's superstar Kenny "kennyS" Schrub, who will revert the changes made nearly a year ago, when Papillon joined VeryGames in his stead.

"Today a page turns: I decided to put an end to my collaboration with Titan. The Gaming house involves a lot of obligations affecting my private life so I expressed the wish not to continue in these conditions." said Richard "shox" Papillon on Titan's website.

"I am thankful to Titan for this experience, thanks to Jérôme, Nathan, Kévin, Edouard and Adil for all the great moments we lived together. There is no doubt they will bounce back in the best possible way, I only wish them the best."

"I'm happy to announce that I have joined Titan's ranks. I became a more complete player thanks to my preceding experiences and I am ready to put down a lot of hours to help my team to reach its objectives. I would like to thank Titan for trusting me as well as Clan-Mystik for this enriching experience." explained the new player, Kenny "kennyS" Schrub.

Titan's lineup is now following:

Titan are now sitting at second place in the ESEA Invite Season 16 Europe with eighteen points from eight matches. Their LAN debut will be SLTV StarSeries IX Finals, which will take place on May 2nd-4th in Kiev CyberSport Arena.

the best and most consistent player over the last 1.5 years in this game has been gtr, theres just no going around it. he single handedly pulls nip to victory and hes been having great lans as well as some great online performances in 2014 so far, plus being rightfully voted player of the year 2013. there is no reasonable argument against that. if you personally have a favourite top player, that doesnt change the facts.

I do not disagree with you, seeing over that time (1.5 years) GtR could be top1, I say could since I haven't really checked any statistics during all that time. But best player in the world, right now as we speak, I think shox is at least top3 as I said in my last post. You may be right considering all statistics though. But one thing I do not agree with you is that shox only had a, and I quote: "couple of good lans in fall 2013 and a handful of great online performances". He's had alot more than that. He basically carried his teams before joining VeryGames, both online and on LAN.

If I remember correctly NiP only use their gaming house to bootcamp before big events whereas Titan live 3/4 weeks per month in theirs. If that's the case it would be an entirely different situation. Regardless I think the possibility of Shox joining NiP is pretty much 0, NiP have expressed that they want a stable lineup and they have completely different native languages.

I know these kinda teams doesn't wanna make changes lightly but cmon get real,if there's a player that has been proven one of the best players in whole game and there's basically sub-par player (even tho uzzii has improved) on your team you really should think about it for a while, and afaik shoxie is very good friends with rest of the team and he's basically so complete player that he would propably mesh very well with LDLC and adjust greatly on their team. This is just tragic for them in my opinion. Roster change is really not what they needed. I thought Shox had matured and could handle the sacrifices that you have to make in order to achieve great results at the highest level. Now the only thing we can hope for Titan is that KennyS indeed learned from his past (and so did they). Good luck to them.

It doesn't matter, roster change is never a good solution. It's only something you should consider in extreme cases, such as retirement from gaming or bad personality issues. They should have discussed it as a team, and convince Shox to reconsider, but I guess negotiations failed if we're at this point. As for Shox doing good, lately he was not doing great at LAN, neither at Katowice nor CPH games. Which was part of their lack of success. Concerning "not trying their best" I think you underestimate what the core of this team is about (NBK Ex6tenz SmithzZz). These guys are hardcore competitors, they don't believe in "not trying their best". To me this move from Shox explains part of their disappointing results, even if it surely doesn't explain everything.

I wasn't talking about performance concerning NBK SmithzZz and Ex6tenz being the core of this team. They're the core of the team because they're the only ones who are in it since the beginning of CS:GO. I won't try to compare SmithzZz and Scream, they have completely different roles and styles. "Maybe if titan can negotiate , and maybe titan and cm wanna swap player, i pretty think that smithzz and kenny should switch place" This won't happen. Shox left because there was no other solution for the team, since they aim at the highest level and they count on players who can put aside some of their personal life to achieve their goal, which Shox wasn't prepared to do. No one is removing Titan's members. They don't have plan in line up changes. It's just because shox can't play full time in gaming house(can't f*** his girl. lol) so he decided to leave the team honestly and it's a much better than to have the 1 of the best player in your team but lack of dedication. Now Titan can be #1 contender again and I'm sure KennyS learn more lesson about his departure last 2013.

In the recent "EL-Classico's" of CSGO (NiP VS Titans) , Titans always seemed to have some extra edge , which I think was thanks to shox in my opinion. I am pretty sure that Titans will bounce back with kennyS to the top but I see them strugle more with NiP. Just look at steam group. Overall ha played a lot less csgo than his teammates. That isnt so bad since he joined a lot later to the team. But if you always look at his hours past 2 weeks when they were practicing before event. He always had significantly less hours than his teammates. I dont blame him. Not everyone wants to put 100h in 2weeks into playing. He doesnt enjoy it and it is hard to be forced into it. So it is smart decision from him. He would only suffer and his teammates also.

Either you are an AWPer, or you aren't at all... f0rest was good with AWP in 1.6, and he's also good with it in GO. Fifflaren wasn't an AWPer at all in Source, and he won't become a good AWPer in GO, regardless his 100500 hours training his AWP skills. It can't be trained so easily, and Fifflaren is a good example of what I'm talking about.

Titan have never dominated anything. Him leaving won't make or break the team. To be honest they were not consistent enough to be considered top1 team. And to be honest their play style is slow and actually very boring to watch. There isn't anything fun from them its like CS from 2004 .... Any way good luck to both parties.

if gaming house was such an issue, I would have just let shox play from home and get the other 4 to bootcamp so long as they are happy. This is what NiP is doing with Xizt and I don't see why this should be an issue to do with Titan? Wow. So many feelings at once. Can't say I was surprised by this change itself though I am surprised about *when* it happened. shox did underperform heavily at CPH (vs. his "best CS:GO player" level from before), but didn't expect VG would want to switch him out so soon. Considering he left by his own choice, I'm curious whether it was influenced by team chemistry (again) at all, aside from his personal commitments. I was always against kennyS being removed back in 2013 but seeing Happy/Maniac ditch him so many times makes me think that maybe he's still not very fun to play with, i.e. whiny and/or not a team player. If anything, NBK and ScreaM will have to step up again, since both are so inconsistent and terrible compared to their past performance peaks. And kenny will have to be about to AWP consistently well on LAN, which I don't recall seeing since...Raidcall EMS One with VG? As others have pointed out, I'm guessing shox will join some sub-top French team and then end up coming back to Titan again. lol. I could see LDLC -Uzzziii +shox becoming really strong, don't think CM can do much aside from kioshima.

People are so fucking dumb! This game is so much more than just highlight reels. Shox was removed from titan (then VeryGames) once before, and they improved from it. He is obviously a hard player to get along with and that can put any team in a slump.. I expect them to improve as a team from this believe it or not. Only lingering questions is, what role smithzz will play, but, they are a professional team, I'm sure they have figured this out already. I don't hate kennyS, lol :-D If it was -SmithZz +kennyS, I would welcome it, but replacing one of the best riflers with a top AWPer can't be good for a team, especially when they already have 1 good sniper (SmithZz). VG managed to win vs NiP only after picking up shox, because they really needed 1 more very good rifler (SmithZz weren't and isn't as good with the rifles as shox is), and SmithZz could become their AWPer again. If ScreaM and NBK suddenly step up, Titan ofc can be even better than they were with shox, but I highly doubt it will ever happen.

I thought that VG were just about to hit top form just before they got rid of KennyS for shoxie. At the time you can understand the decision, looking to finally better NIP they had to change something. After a poor couple of months with shoxie, they again started to gel and find some form which then led them to be Number1 for at least a month or two. Titan have been under performing at tournaments and the bond doesn't seem to be there any more so it is maybe the best idea to bring back KennyS and for shoxie to do his own thing. Shoxie will be a great addition to any team and KennyS needs a top team. With KennyS coming back even stronger and seemingly more mature, I think they should be able to grow again. I guess only time will tell although I would have loved to see KennyS and Shoxie in a team together, they are two of my favourite players to watch.

So there was a internal problem as I guessed after those performances. even if a absolute enormous team like titan got a broken teamspirit through internal problems you see them fall in bad results as you saw. so maybe it's just the right decission for shox and titan together. shox could easily play for LDLC for example which are able to beat a spiritual broken titan as you saw and they are also able to beat titan under other conditions. I will enjoy Titan without Shoxie surely also, but Shoxie is a master at work and only deserves the best possible team with his enormous reached skill. now you also got the explanation why shox was low in the last matches. no fighter in the world can fight for real if his spirit is broken and not focused on point cause it's human and we are controlled by our emotions exaclty as our highest god is. better believe that.

I really like shox, he is maybe the best player but I think, kennyS is a good choice. Maybe it should be someone else who would leave Titan but there were internal problems. KennyS is amazing player and as we could see in CM, he can win rounds alone. Scream, NBK, ex6tenz and smithz are amazing too. And smithz + kennyS on de_dust2 should be amazing duo!! I want to wish good luck for shox and I hope, he will show us why is he the best!

He left, he didnt get kicked. "Titan change shox for kennyS" Title missleading. Shox left because he felt that he couldnt have a privatelife in the gaminghouse, it was too much, so he left. And some idiot on HLTV.org decides: "Well, ill say Titan change shox for kennyS" 'implying that Titan (the organization) kicked shox for kennyS' Which is NOT THE CASE. It should've been more like: "shox leaves Titan, kennyS rejoins" "shox steps down, kennyS back in!" or a quote from shox as the title. like: "Shox: 'I decided to end to my collaboration with Titan' ; KennyS back in" NOT: "Titan change shox for kennyS" I dont write titles, but the person that did the news piece didnt even read it himself, which seems ODD SINCE HE WROTE IT.

Where did I say it was TITAN's stupid decision? I think it's HIS mistake for leaving since he announced he will still continue playing - I don't think he can accomplish more in any other team. Edit: vakarm.net/files/1/declashox.jpg
