GameGune with €9,375 prize purse

The GameGune organisers have announced that this year's female CS:GO tournament will feature a prize purse of €9,375.

Earlier in the week, HLTV.org revealed that the Spanish event would once again put together a Counter-Strike tournament, but this time around for female teams only, a decision that took many by surprise.

It has now been revealed that this tournament alone will feature a prize purse in excess of €9,000, which is more than what was up for grabs at ESWC 2013 ($10,000) and Copenhagen Games 2014 (€7,000).

The cash distribution looks as follows:

1. - €5,000
2. - €2,500
3. - €1,250
4. - €625

The sign-up process for GameGune's female CS:GO tournament will be announced shortly. All teams interested in attending the event can contact the organisers by e-mail at [email protected].

Such an unimportant news now that it will be a female tournament. It's just so uninteresting and boring to watch girls play. If they would at least put effort in to be as good as semi pro teams or even less good than that..ugh.

They dont have enought sponsors and money to make a male tournament.

How is it possible to get 10000€ for a female tournament but nothing for a male tournament? I doubt it's more difficult to find sponsors for actual pro teams than female teams?!

I dont think that's true. CSGO is one of the few active female scenes and companies are desperate to get more girls playing and buying equipment. Turning CS into a successful female sport might bring a lot of girls into the gaming world, at least that's what I think sponsors hope.

Gamegune has always been focused on international scene, as they wont attrack top teams with this prizepool male top teams, they maybe think that female ones could move to spain and play this tournament.

So you can't attract male top teams but female top teams that usually have worse organisations overall? That doesn't make sense at all. There would definitely be enough teams to fill slots with international teams.

I have nothing against female tournaments as long as there is a male tournament coming with it. This is how gender and equality look like, gamegune organisers? You've just lost lots of viewers, good job.

lol, 'gender equality' at its finest. Organise a female only tournament as men are too stronk, disregard that there are no only male competitions out there. Harmful idea, waste of money

Saddest shit ive heard in a while :D I scrolled the news about the female tournament in GameGune really fast and i thought it would just be a side tournament... Waste of money, sorry girls. Im guessing GameGune has other titles also there, and this is just the smallest of all the tournaments. This cant be the "oh this is how we get spectators for this years event"-idea. Im pretty sure this will even draw twitch spectators, cos of betting...

I think girls deserve their own tournaments just so they don't have to associate with the overwhelmingly sexist and adolescent CS community. Every time somebody says "back 2 kitchen" or "make me a sandwich lal" they should move more prizepool to female tournaments until they pay DH winners only in stickers and party hats.

right now you can never know, but in order to create better players you need them to play against the best.the best thing about cs is that it has no gender advatage at all and we should take advantage of this to make tournys alot more fun to watch

its ture just like my brain and yours are different. i still think that having a bi-gender tourny will,at worst, improve players. and just for a ture taste of women reflexes, try tell your gf you slept with her best friend and see how fast she slaps you

no it actually isnt as i stated before, just google it you ll find out alot more and understand it alot better when you read it there incase you're too lazy, it has to do with white and grey matter. meaning that when we are in the same situation as females different parts of our brains get activated basicly. ever heard that women are better at multi tasking then men? that has alot to do with it aswell

Can you dribbling cunts cut some slack over this? It is fair enough to have tourneys for females aswell, as there are plenty of teams playing the game aswell. There are shitloads of male tourneys to be played what so ever. If you dont like it, dont watch it, keep it to urself or atleast man the fuck up kids. Always the HLTV logic, bunch of dribbling virgin kids. Over n out. Peace x I personally think its good. dont think ill have any time to watch it what so ever but its still nice to show support to the female esports aswell. As they are rising up with the number of players slowly but surely

lmao thats why some ppl should never get access to internet. there are no tournaments/lans which ban the women out (but works the other way around), they got nothing less then men but they kind of like how it is right now. Treated like down syndrome players with special rights, instead of promoting same genders rights.

I said pathetic, yes I did. So you hltv are deleting all the post which express something else than 'whoooo girls gl!!!!' ? Cause of this female only tourney, we spanish people have 1 less lan of the only 3 biglans that were here at the moment (gamegune (euskal party), tenerife lan party, campus party) now we have only 2 big lans. So let me express my fucking discontent thanks.
