Nameless invited to DH Summer

The DreamHack organisers have announced that Nameless have been invited to attend this year's Summer event.

Earlier in the week, the French team made headlines when they parted ways with Clan-Mystik, with rumours suggesting that Robin "GMX" Stahmer's side had already found a new organisation.

Such rumours have now gained strength after the team were invited to attend DreamHack Summer, which will take place from June 14-16 in Jönköping, Sweden.

shox & co to attend DH Summer

Nameless will be joined in this $30,000 tournament by fellow countrymen Titan, who recently won DreamHack's Stockholm SteelSeries Invitational.

The news means that there are now only three invites to DH Summer left, with the event organisers due to reveal the names of these three teams this weekend already.

The participants' list for DH Summer currently looks as follows:

Sweden NiP Sweden fnatic Denmark dignitas France Titan
Sweden ex-LGB Poland Virtus.pro Ukraine Na`Vi Ukraine HellRaisers
Sweden AliGon Denmark Reason France Nameless

Really don't think it's worth their time. Nor do I think they wish to spend that much money to get to a "mediocre" event. (Not in terms of size of course, but in regards to the prizepool) Sure, more offline experience, but do they need it that bad?

I shouldn't matter on the prize purse size for huge companies like these.

If they cared they wouldn't send them at all. iBP have been to most of the European LANs and have very little to show for it. I don't think they've ever even made it out of groups. Edit: and look at #57

Well they won't win it anyway so they won't get a big prize even if it was a 250k $ tournament....it's the same stuff.

Not about prizepool as much as getting publicity for their sponsers. Seeing how recent smaller tourneys online only are getting massive turnout, it could be a good investment. Plus I would to see if iBP could finally do good abroad :D.

Don't get me wrong, I'd love to see more American teams at international events! And yea, sponsor exposure could be one reason for either coL/iBP to go to Sweden! I can't see it being worthwhile though. The Summer event hasn't been as successful in terms of team turnout and exposure in general in the past etc. We'll see! Hopefully atleast there's gonna be one American team there, but I'm doubting that atm.

SK are based in Sweden so I doubt they'd give them an invite, as they can just attend the BYOC. And they'd give the invites to teams further away.

I don't think ibp or any american team will be invited (or want to attend) simply because of the prize money. Unless valve says they back up this tournament which sadly seems less and less possible every day.
