G3 to serve as ESWC qualifier
ESWC has announced that G3's CS:GO tournament will also serve as a qualifier for this year's world finals, in Paris.
Organised by Gfinity, the British LAN event will take place from August 2nd to 3rd at the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park in London, with $30,000 of the event's $160,000 prize pool being allocated to the CS:GO tournament alone.
The competition will feature 12 teams in total, three who qualify via the online cups and nine who are invited by the event organisers.
The ESWC website now shows G3 as a qualifier, which means one of two things: either the highest-placed British team will secure a place at the French event or the winner of the tournament, regardless of nationality, will. No details have so far been announced on how G3, as an international event, will work as a qualifier.
Details on how teams can sign up for G3's online qualifiers, the first of which will be played this weekend, can be found here.
