ESEA Finals team list

ESEA has released the final team list for the upcoming season 16 finals in Dallas.

The event will run from June 27th to 29th at the DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel in Dallas and will pit the top four sides from the North American and the European divisions against each other, with $47,500 up for grabs.

Due to the fact that the rosters have been locked for weeks, teams like dignitas and Clan-Mystik were unable to attend the event, forcing ESEA to come up with an alternative.

In the event, the North American organisation had to call Wizards, now known as Over Gaming, who curiously were the bottom-placed side in the European league on a 5-11 record.

The participants' list for the ESEA finals is the following:

North America Europe
United States iBUYPOWER Sweden NiP
United States Open Equal Free Poland Virtus.pro
United States NetcodeGuides Ukraine Natus Vincere
United States compLexity Spain Over Gaming

Before the actual tournament, ESEA will be host its traditional All-Star Game between North America and Europe, with each team in attendance having at least one player defending the colours of their region.

Starting on Monday, each team will have a poll running on ESEA's website for 24 hours for fans to choose their favourite player. The players with the highest number of votes will make it to the All-Star game.

In the end, there will be a continental poll with the remaining players who did not make the cut to choose the fifth player for each region. The voting schedule is the following:

Day 1: United States iBUYPOWER
Day 2: United States Open Equal Free
Day 3: United States NetcodeGuides
Day 4: United States compLexity
Day 5: Sweden Ninjas in Pyjamas
Day 6: Poland Virtus.pro
Day 7: Ukraine Natus Vincere
Day 8: Spain Over Gaming
Day 9: American Last Chance Poll
Day 10: European Last Chance Poll

The schedule for ESEA 16 LAN finals can be found here.

Clearly not, they ended up last in the league. Titan were stupidly removed because of a 24h late roster change, as well as CM, Dignitas and ex-LGB later on. Fnatic should be the ones to go, maybe they couldn't attend on such a short notice or want to focus on something else I don't know, but Over Gaming attending is a joke, and in my opinion all the blame goes to ESEA for not being flexible with their rules.

Can't understand why they wouldn't allow some of the Euro teams like Dig and Titan to attend - the rule they're disqualified under is being broken only in letter, not in spirit, which indicates that it's a bad rule. Surprised that OG would want to attend, but GL to them anyway, hope they get some wins.

I agree. In NA roster-hopping is a big problem but in EU its really not as big of a deal. with how much money teams have to shell out to come here for ESEA LAN they should be able to swap out a player if they have to.

NA and EU teams participate in the same competition therefore the rules are obviously the same for everyone. The problem, as usual, is that everybody complains about the roster lock during the competition, especially if the team, f.e. Titan, is affected by it.

Yeah or maybe lock a roster for more than two month on this period is a bad idea ? Bad for viewers, bad for esea, bad for the game ?

Kairi, MusambaN1 and FlipiN played many LANs , theyre the old school of 1.6 , Musa and Flipin archived rly good results in the past in 1.6 era with the old x6tence. I mean they always say that they usually perform better at LAN than Online and as far as i know its true :P
