China to host ESWC qualifier

The ESWC organisers have announced that China will stage a qualifier for this year's CS:GO tournament.

The tournament will be organised by 5eplay and will take place from August 8th to 15th, which is a very strong indicator that it will be held online.

The news comes as a massive boost for the Chinese teams, who have had very little opportunities to compete abroad since CS:GO was released.

At MSI Beat It 2013, Nface were the Chinese side who got the closest to the podium and they still came in 5th-6th place, while TyLoo and H5 both bowed out of the tournament in the group stage.

Stay tuned to HLTV.org as we will be bringing you all the information about all the regional qualifiers for the ESWC finals.

Forget what you've learned in school. I'm teaching you know. Vietnam - communists. North Korea - ultra communists. China - communists. Laos - communists. Be my guest and check with uncle Google.

Mister, I'm glad that you wish to help out, but do some homework first. You're absolutely right regarding China as a communist state. They're only communist by name. Claiming them being socialistic is pretty harsh, because socialism happens when the market or a better word, economy, is controlled by central government. That's not the case in today's China. Private enterprises controls the majority of businesses in China.

i studied chinese politics for 3 years. they are not fully socialist but they are in the middle. in your original post you said communism. the government still own large parts of the market such as banks and still largely control the people of china, yes they have a lot of private owned enterprises but the society as a whole is controlled by the government so in economic terms they are as the government describes themselves "socialist with chinese characteristics (communist ideals in certain areas)"

Great, awesome studies. You should continue with them and I wish you good luck in future. Observing the economy today, in my eyes, China is the biggest supower, therefore such studies could come in handy at some point. Yeah, I wrote communism, because that's what they officialy are. Whether or not they're "practising" communism or its subforms is of a different matter. What do you mean by "the society as a whole is controlled by the government"? It's true that all three branches (executive, legislative and judicial) are controlled by the Communist Party, but I wouldn't call that socialism or "middle" socialists. Why? Because people can still more or less do whatever they want. The most important indicator would be that foreign companies are moving their businesses to China, not away.

people can still more or less do what they want? i had people from china in my studies who had their homes burned down by government officials because they had a sibling which wasn't allowed before the one child rule was relaxed. they still have strict controls on the internet. the government is very strict with what the people can see and what can't they see. they have no where near as much freedom as the western world

There has never been a communist country. Ever. Communism implies a stateless society in which there is no form of currency, no classes and the means of production are held under common ownership. Calling China socialist is incorrect too, because socialism is when the means of production are held under common ownership which certainly is not the case with China.

they are not strictly socialist but they are not under anything the same with every country. they are not capitalist by any means. they are literally in the middle but the chinese themselves say they are more socialist. the government still own major state enterprises, they own the banks. a lot of areas have still been privatised but the banks imo is the key one because they can control the economy better with control over the banks than the countries who have no control can. no country will EVER be fully communist, it is not possible. the idea is an ideal that people head towards and china did that. mao pretty much got rid of all foreign enterprises and made everyone a labour workforce which acted in a communist way. they all worked for each other with no personal gains which was as communist as you could get.
