Patch released to nerf Tec-9

Following numerous complaints about Tec-9 since this week's update, Valve has released a small patch to fix the semi-automatic pistol.

Tec-9 had been one of the weapons whose properties were changed following Wednesday's update, which also nerfed the CZ75 auto pistol.

Since the update, many players had complained about the Tec-9 being way too strong, and with the Iron Gaming LAN due to take place this weekend, many had called for a quick patch to fix this situation, which has now been released.

Below you can find the complete patch notes:

[OPERATION BREAKOUT]

  • Missions will now properly reward progress on partnering dedicated servers.
  • Fixed graphical glitch with water on cs_rush and de_overgrown when shader detail is set to medium or low.

[GAMEPLAY]

  • Fixed the Tec-9 weapon script.

[MISC]

  • Fixed a rare crash when updating the scoreboard.
  • Zooming out of a sniper scope on a map that doesn’t have a post processing entity will no longer cause a circular visual artifact.

I don't see a nerf I just see that they removed the script. It's still as op. Edit: Just tried it ingame and the recoil has been nerfed slightly but not too much. I'll still deffo use it.

Both true and not, it's pretty good for close quarter rushes for ex. B on Inferno but I wouldn't recommend it for D2 pistol round for example.

+1, tec9 fix was top 1 priority but, 1awp shots trough doors really need to be fixed aswell. this ruins rounds before they even started. same with container shots. damage reduction was okay through doors and containers, i don't understand why they change things that work out well. and some spots like lower b tunnel on dust2 should be allowed to fire through boxes. really doesnt make any sense you cant fire throut ct spawn boxes where ppl are camping. change some boxes to prevent that but not in every spot.

i bet they removed it since the number of overwatch-reports increases when noobs get prefired through boxes. i liked it too, feels weird now that i cant shoot through this box, BUT through the box on A-Mirage. i mean wtf, srsly

Then I believe that all definitions of "typo" are wrong, like this one "typo: a mistake in printed matter resulting from mechanical failures of some kind". And that's not because numbers look similar that it's a typo. Looks like poeple are trying to give excuses to devs for not testing their work. That's not something new, they don't really test their patches and creates lots of troubles. Maybe because they don't have the time to.

It literally was like cod. Running around while shooting. I remember watching a stream where the team was trolling around with the tec9 and one said "don't stop, just run cause tec9". People were doing tec9 buys. No need for the ak lol XD

It's the text file that controls weapon behaviour like damage, accuracy, rate of fire etc. It's in the csgo/scripts folder.

Have you all noticed that the "InaccuracyMove" value in the tec9 script file is still at "3.81" after the latest patch/update (7/2/2014)??? All other pistols' are higher than "12" ....And before the breakout operation 7/1/2014 update, the tec9 was "13.81"..which was fine and balanced (compared to the other pistols).. Even though the tec-9's "InaccuracyFire" and "RecoilMagnitude" have been fixed with the 7/2/2014 patch update, there is still hardly any difference in accuracy between standing and running with it... which still makes it very easy for me to do running head shots CONSISTENTLY with it...... Hope this is really fixed soon

Why are you guys complaining so much? They're doing a pretty decent job on the game and they probably don't pay attention to HLTV because all of you just bitch and moan whenever they do something. Have some faith in Valve. Unless you're waiting in HL3. In which case don't bother.
