ESL One Oceania qualifier announced

ESL have announced the Oceania qualification taking place on July 13-20 for its next major, ESL One Cologne, to be held next month.

After inviting Vox Eminor directly to EMS One Katowice, ESL have this time decided to host an actual qualifier before next month's $250,000 tournament, ESL One Cologne.

Two pre-qualifiers will be hosted on Sunday, July 13 and Saturday, July 19. Both of them will be using a double elimination bracket and be open for 32 teams each.

Vox Eminor are favorites to qualify for Cologne

Top four finishers in both qualify for the final qualifier, taking place on Sunday, July 20. Map pool will include de_dust2, de_inferno, de_mirage, de_nuke and de_train.

You can find out more information over at ESL One's announcement or directly in the qualifier portal's website, where you can also sign up for the pre-qualifiers.

Not really, they have been beaten very few times (Like 2 or 3 times) but since then, they got a lineup change (-snyper +jks) and from what i've seen, this has been positive.

If it's not an all expenses paid for the winner of this qualification it will be a joke. Voxe are the only team with the funds probably, and the only team worthy of attending ESL one. Half of the Australian csgo community probably don't even have passports.

I'm sure they'll 'find the money' if they win, other teams not so lucky, but previously, other orgs around the world have helped out like Amazing Gaming etc and think about it, you would be a fool not to consider the marketting potential if you sponsor a team to ESL, the sticker capsule alone has made VOX a house hold name an we didn't even win a game.

Thanks for the show of support, this gives us great strength. I guess we are the favourites but there is some very good competition from Meka.Tt (Snypers new team) and definitley some challenges been thrown down by Athletico, Control and possibly Avant(if they are praccing). It wont be a walk over and all teams are practicing like crazy to win this spot. It's also online, so anything can happen ;) The spot is for Oceania not Asia, so unfortunatley it's just AUS and NZ allowed.

Only to Singapore is 80-90 for Western Australia, 100-150 for the rest of Australia and 190+ for NZ. (correct me if i'm wrong people. I think most games are played on a WA server though.

damn I feel sorry for the countries that can't play CS at all. playing with 80+ ping is just bull crap. for example africa, asia and oceania (back in the days 1.6 was active as hell in South America and they got a taste of CS (brazil<3)).

There is a community, but it isn't big. Most people just play matchmaking. Anyone else plays pugs on csgo.com.au, or scrims through Cybergamer. Sadly most gamers play LoL or Dota, Battlefield or CoD, or they're console scrubs.

When it comes to gaming, NZ and Australia are one country: Oceania. Almost all servers are in Aus, and the few that are in New Zealand close down often because there's no DDoS protection here. au.cybergamer.com

"We have a growing prize pool for the winning team which currently stands at $7,500 with thanks of course to our supporting partners at Mwave Australia,Seagate and TP-Link who have thrown their hat into the tournament to give OCE gamers a chance to compete against the worlds best. This naturally is for teams to assist with the travel costs to attend the global final in Cologne." Turns out the winners of the qualifiers will have the money to go the ESL One regardless of who they are. Source: au.cybergamer.com/forums/thread/548032/p..
