iBUYPOWER win ESWC NA qualifier

iBUYPOWER won the North American qualifier for the ESWC world finals after beating Mobility-Gaming 2-0 in the final.

Between Friday and Saturday, one team from the United States and six from Canada gathered at Théâtre Telus, in Montreal, to contest the two spots at this year's ESWC finals, in Paris.

With compLexity out of the way, two-time ESEA champions had, as expected, an easy route to the grand final, sweeping past every opponent they came across.

Skadoodle & co to travel to Paris

In the tournament decider, Lucas "steel" Lopes's side took on Mobility Gaming, whom they had already thrashed 16-3 during the group stage. The Canadian team tried to exact revenge on iBP, but they fell short once again, being defeated 4-16 on de_nuke and 14-16 on de_dust2.

Broken tag

Both iBUYPOWER and Mobility Gaming have qualified for the ESWC finals, even though only the United States-based team will have their expenses covered by the event organisers.

ESWC 2014 North America qualifier final standings:

1. United States iBUYPOWER - ESWC spot
2. Canada Mobility-Gaming - ESWC spot
3. Canada abunch
4. Canada Armata

I'm really hyped to see this amazing team in the upcoming european tournaments. These guys don't fuck around. They've been simply beating everyone. Hope it ain't just hype and they choke in EU. Atm, I consider them a Top5 team. And Complexity should do very well in EU, aswell. The NA giants are rising :b

what? they beat virtus pro at homesoil and col. Thats all theyve done. Dont overhype them. On the other hand col won vs Navi, virtus and NiP.

Both iBP & coL took down virtus pro And NiP went down by both coL and Virtus pro. Not saying this is related in anyway but NiP were nonperforming and Na'Vi were playing without Edward

They are undisputed Top1 in NA. Like the other user has said, they've beaten coL in the finals, the same coL that managed to beat NiP, NaVi and Virtus Pro, all Top5 teams. And dude, they didn't just beat coL, they dominated them in 2 easy matches, ending up 16-9 and 16-2. They only lost one map to VP, and it was a close 14-16 loss. If you check their matches, hardly any of them are even close. They just keep dominating team after team. And the hype is also real, as CSGL confirms with odds usually above 80% for iBP. Now, I'm not saying they won't choke. I'm not saying there isn't some (deserved) hype about them, neither. But if they bring their A-game to the upcoming LANs, I guarantee you: only the best of the best can defeat them. This is just my opinion, tho.

That example you used right there is stupid, its the same with fnatic vs NiP in dreamhackw or clan-mystik vs titan at ESWC finals."And the hype is also real, as CSGL confirms with odds usually above 80% for iBP." Facepalm, lol

No, stupid is to say that iBP aren't amongst the best teams in Counter-Strike, right now. They are. They will have 2 LANs in Europe to prove this, and i have a feeling they just will. About the hype thing... oi? I meant the hype is real, meaning the people choose to bet high on them, which basically means that they believe they are strong, that they will win. It's neither right nor wrong, it's just hype. Don't know what you have to facepalm about. I guess you're just too smart for me. :)

Dude are you reading yourself? "stupid is to say that iBP aren't amongst the best teams in Counter-Strike, right now. They are." Thats like saying humans are robots cos I say so, try to justify your stuff with some facts lol. "They will have 2 LANs in Europe to prove this, and i have a feeling they just will." Okey, so they WILL (future), FEELING. I gave you an argument for your "they've beaten coL in the finals, the same coL that managed to beat NiP, NaVi and Virtus Pro, all Top5 teams" with the DHW and ESWC finals. Whats your responde to that?

"they beat virtus pro at homesoil and col. Thats all theyve done." When that is all you have to say about the current achievements/skill level of iBP, you can't ask to be taken seriously. I said that, with the results they've been getting, it would be "stupid" (a term I used because of your uncalled arrogance that was annoying me) not to, at least, consider them a top5 team, atm. And, obviously, that they will have 2 LANs in Europe to prove how good they are (or not, obviously). As I said, it's my opinion. And in my opinion, the Top5 teams, in terms of skill (not achievements/major wins), are NiP, VP, iBP, Navi and CoL, followed by LDLC, Dignitas, HellRaisers, Titan and Fnatic. That's all i'm telling - my opinion. You are okay to disagree with it. Just don't disrespect people with those insulting approaches.

Like hes said several times in his posts, he bases his opinion on their recent results. Beating the top teams in the world, on homesoil or not, does obviosly make you a contender for a top5 spot. If they show good results in upcoming tourneys in EU they will most likely be considered a top5 team. Both your and his opinions are just that, opinions, so neither of you can make any claims, but atleast zack reaalises that while you dont seem to grasp the concept.

Its very simple: He is saying that ibp won against coL, and coL won over VP, Navi and NiP. Therefore he thinks IBP is better than VP, Navi, Nip and coL despite only winning vs VP and coL. I dont think is that hard to understand, really. You: "If they show good results in upcoming tourneys in EU they will most likely be considered a top5 team." he is saying they are atm "at least, consider them a top5 team, atm."

His _opinion_ is that they are a top5 team. Hes _considering_ them to be a top5 team. Based on pretty logic thinking might I add which is their latest results of beating world class teams. You cant really speculate if you want to rank teams tbh, you can only go after the hard evidence, and thats results. Both him and youreself have aired your opinions in the matter (and both are just as worthless as a skill measurer of the said teams). We just have to wait and see and I have no real opinion in the matter (as I said its useless to speculate when it comes to rankings) but you dont seem to grasp that theres a possibility that iBP might be a top5 team (wich will be cleared after the upcoming tourneys in EU).

I don't want ppl to get overhyped with iBP. They more hype you give them, the more disappointed you will be when they choke in EU. Yes, they are a good team but EU LAN's are a different monster compared to the comfy ESEA.

Implying that none of them attended any LAN's outside of ESEA. They'll do better than 50% of euro teams by passing groups at ESL at worst
