Pimp unveils Denmark ESEC roster

Denmark captain Jacob "Pimp" Winneche has unveiled his 10-man squad for the European Championship.

Denmark came out on top of the first ESEC edition and collected the $2,000 cheque after beating France 3-1 in the grand final, which took place in Belgrade, Serbia, in December.

Without surprise, this year's captain Jacob "⁠Pimp⁠" Winneche, who was part of the winning lineup, has called up the four team-mates with whom he won the event, in addition to two CPH Wolves mates of his, Lukas "⁠gla1ve⁠" Rossander and Nicolaj "⁠Nico⁠" Jensen.

ESEC-winning quintet make this year's squad

The remaining players in Denmark's squad come from teams like dignitas, Refuse and unu.AiN, with Danni "⁠smF⁠" Dyg being the only one who is currently a free agent.

Yes i call my old team for example (ESC) a top3 team in DK - Then he also played in Reason which was 2-3 ranked at the time. Killerfish/logiX we were around 5-6th as we ended on HKLAN - so ok, maybe at the beginning of go he wasnt.

We didnt face either Reason or 3DMAX in any officials, only in praccs where we literally raped them, i am confident that we would beat any of those two teams considering our form and how many hours we put into that team, bootcamping etc. Dignitas was always #1 sure, cant say anything to that :)

I thought about varius things when I put this team together. I want a team that are well thought about, a team I put together to win the tournament. Colon is not an asset in any of those scenarios I have thought about. I don't give a damm fuck about stats from Copenhagen games 2012 or what ever you keep posting. I know how things went down on your team, why some players got good stats, and why some dont. Stats are useless unless you have something to hold them against, which I lucky enough have. I know him as a player, I know what he can, and most important of all, what he can't. I like him as a person, I have nothing against Morten, but I don't play this to give out friend gifts, I play to win. Something you also puts a big questions mark about, how dare u? Just the fact that I feel it necessary to explain that to you, and everyone else in here (I got steam, you got steam also, hence where we're going?) is beyond me. In your little world Colon is the best danish player, while tenzki is the number 2. Why is that? Who from Copenhagen Wolves and Dignitas have you actually played with? (ESC for 5 days, gz, hence why that ended so quickly) You have been shit talking the whole danish scene, the mentality and so on. While in fact you don't seem to understand how things are running, like you wanna shut your self into some kind of dream world, where everything goes after your head. I like the idea, but sadly for both of us, thats not the reality. Ah ok, so you dont do this to give out friends passes? Well im not the only one thinking this, just not everyone who wants to express their opinions like me. Stats from the last big event you can take, or the one year ago, doesnt matter - it was just as good. So about the thing you mention who i think is the best danish player, thats my own personal opinion, but as you can see - there are at least 20 comments in here questioning why he isnt on the lineup - and i dont talk about dignitas players because they are a solid team that doesnt pick up players who destroys team, or luckily can get rid of them. Yes i think tenzki and coloN are amongst the better danish players, and yes i think they are FAR better than you - again, thats my opinion. I didnt play with any of those players who destroy teams, i tried to play a few days with gla1ve and aizy, that was fun, but mainly because Lukas is a friend to me IRL as also stated in previous interviews - even then i was very toxic about bringing them in cause i know how much lineup changes all the previous teams had. But since you have so much inside knowledge, maybe you can share a little bit on that part. So now stop pretending to act as the "niceguy" on the outside, when your basically dead poison and you and your mates does more to destroy the danish scene than doing good. I state my personal opinion, i didnt really want to have a chat / discussion about it since i dont even play in the danish scene, it doesnt hurt my feelings that much - i am just a big questionmark about it, as many others are. Alright alright, i can only judge from what i can see as a spectator. I will not deny that you might be wrong but Reason and 3DMAX had better results, especially Reason. Maybe you didn't face them in official exactly, but in my opinion they seemed more successful in any tournament that was up at this time. (Qualify for EMS Katowice, etc..)

Meh if I was in charge I wouldnt even consider colon, hes a cool dude and everything but he dosnt fit into this sort of team. Skill wise we all know how great he can be, but theres a number of reasons why hes never been picked up in the top2 teams. I think pimp made the right call regarding players and nico is just as good if not better than colon.

i think coloN would be a great asset to a mix team, since thats basically where he started destroying everyone - so im on the exact opposite site on that one. Furthermore, he has so high successrate in entryfrags overall, and is able to play with both awp & rifles. And again, did you ever try to play with him? Do you have any knowledge about him as a player, or are you just jumping to conclusions? cause as far as i know, you never played with him, you might talked to him - dont know about that.

Not denying the fact that coloN is very skillfull. But you make him out to be alot better than he really is. Being a great player and fitting into a team is not about how many frags you can put on the scoreboard, how many motm votes you get on hltv or how great your stats are. Who cares how many frags you get if you dont win? Refering to my latter point again - there are a number of reasons why he wont be picked up in the top2 teams and still havnt. If he truely was the best, I am perfectly sure we would have seen him in a top2 team. Lets just be clear, he could potentially fit into this national roster but I my mind hes still a fair bit behind a few other players who arent mentioned nor picked up by pimp.

Then please, tell me who on earth you would pick above coloN (besides cajunB) - then in my mind, he is far above other players in the nations roster. But you still, dont answer my question - your just jumping to conclusions, since you never really played with him. You know when you see a good player, when you play a lot with him and see how he works, not by jumping on the train of a few kids. But at least you do agree a little bit that he "potentially" could fit into the nations roster - anyway, it doesnt break my heart, i was just clueless about it. :-)

If there must be good reasons to be in a top team, why are you then in one? You got such great players around you and still didnt achieve shit! To think that your old playstyle would work nowadays seems pretty smart.. Tactics that were performed once, got destroyed the next time you played them. That was the main reason why you failed at the CPHgames imo. The IGL that argues, that its not only about the frags, but about winning and then has the shittiest T side strats that I have ever seen from a top team.

No people that dont owe the ability to think nuacned propely wont. In case gla1ve does not play MSL is the 2nd caller of the team. Besides that he is not a part of CPHW or Dignitas, so in case either team practise and are not able to play, its important to have players from diffrent teams. Same goes on with Lomme, and smF, they will be avaivble in case either the players from CPH or Dignitas aren't. Besides that what should Colon do on the team? The team has Nico as the main awp, in case he can't play, Device, gla1ve, and my self can play the AWP just fine. Colon does not add anything to the team I dont already have, besides that ability to bait out his mates, wanking for frags, not beeing able to communicate, things I dont have on my team, and things I most definitely not need. So before you go on your stats hunt, try think twice before you write out your empty opinion. Same goes on for crzy. I don't say that i'm perfect, actually I might have missed something Colon could add, or that could justify him beeing there, funny enough NONE have brought up anything new. None has writting anything that could give me 2nd doubts, did I make the right choise? All I see is buthurt people, that look at his stats with out knowing shit about how things work.
