coL set to move to Cloud9 - Report

According to dailydot.com, compLexity's CS:GO team are set to join Cloud9 once their contracts expire.

Even though compLexity were shaky on the North American scene, after qualifying for ESEA Invite Season 16 Global Finals by the skin of their teeth, they suprised by defeating NiP, Virtus.pro and Natus Vincere on their way to second place.

Jordan "⁠n0thing⁠" Gilbert's team's contracts at compLexity will supposedly expire on August 2nd, and despite the organization's efforts including an annual salary, Gilbert and company look to be set to move to Cloud9.

Hiko & co could be playing under a new tag at the next major

Cloud9 have started as a League of Legends team only, but soon started venturing into other titles such as DotA 2 and Hearthstone. This time it looks like they will be acquiring a CS:GO team.

According to compLexity's manager Jason Bass, the move is already set in stone as Cloud9 offered a better deal than the opposition:

"We made an offer for a new annual salary weeks ago but the players informed us Cloud9 made a better one," Bass told dailydot.com.

"We wish the players and Cloud9 nothing but the best. We enjoyed having them as a part of compLexity. They are very talented and we're glad they found a new home moving forward."

The last roster compLexity used in the CEVO-P match against Area51 is following:

Kory "semphis" Friesen
Mike "shroud" Grzesiek
Sean "sgares" Gares

Gilbert's team's LAN debut with the new roster and potentially under the new tag is going to be ESL One Cologne, which will run from August 14-17.

Well The International 4 had over 11 million pricepool and it was Cloud9 who eliminated NaVi. They placed 5th-6th winning over 650k. Imo the best match/map in the whole tournament was the 2nd map between Cloud9 and VG (VG won the tournament). They have a brilliant DotA2 team and they seem like a solid house :)

Oh damn my bad there. Don't even know why I said Vici won, just rewatched the replays yesterday. My bad. But Vici did make it to the finals tho :) edit: Newbee totally owned Vici too, eventho they lost the 1st map. The final was quite a disappointment, all 4 maps were pure steamroll.

The match you're talking about is the SingSing Meepo and PieLieDie Bounty "courier sniper" ? I was thinking about this one but now i have doubt it was the one against VG in winner bracket semi final.

Nope, the finals were decent, they were actionfilled. It's just their (VG) strats that are made for early game domination. If they fail at the begginning, then they can call gg as there is no point in playing 30-40 min games with no action at all. The problem was that both VG & NB have the same playstyle and NewBee executed it better this time. I doubt that any other team could stand a chance against those two.

Good. Complexity now has an organization that is paying them a salary, and a higher one than coL offered. They'll likely get some money from the stickers (coL kept sticker revenue, iBP shared it) and will also probably attend more EU events in the future (another thing they were unhappy about according to another article).

Ya was suprised EG didn't scoop these guys up. Bout as good a time as you are going to find to jump into csgo, and this is a team that's competitive internationally with the best of teams. IBP would be a good pick up too.

They seemed to have listened to the complaints and offered them what they could, they just couldn't match C9's offer. And I love coL not only for the history associated with them but the people that run it. I'll support any team they pick up :) I'll be a C9 fan until they do so. Edit: Also I was secretly hoping Na'Vi would be picking them up. Na'Vi said they were looking at "other" games to expand the NA division as well. Now that isn't possible :(

This will allow coL to go to more events and be more motivated to practice since they have a salary now. Wouldn't doubt if they got into the form they were in when they placed 3-4 at DHW when they're more composed. As long as shroud can perform on LAN like he has online.
