Cipangu.GO win ESWC Japan

Cipangu.GO have secured a place at this year's ESWC finals after winning the Japanese qualifier.

A total of 16 teams from Japan battled it out in this week-long online qualifier, organised by Gamers League, with hopes of getting their hands on the highly-coveted spot at the ESWC finals.

The qualifier used a single-elimination best-of-one format all the way through, with the exception of the grand final, which was played in a best-of-three system.

The tournament decider pited Cipangu.GO against Three of Spades, with the former coming out on top on the first map, de_dust2, with a 16-11 scoreline. Three of Spades then equalised the series by winning de_inferno 19-16, but Cipangu were far too strong on de_nuke and ran out 16-7 winners to qualify for the ESWC.

yeah, south korea. well, the country is really good in other kinds of games, like LoL and SC2. Everyone there play LoL and i don't think they have good teams in fps games

Nice seeing some Japanese teams in CS (or any eSports game overall) since you rarely do so. It's a shame that Japan has such a small eSports scene but hopefully it'll grow.

My point is that ESWC is at his place , Actually it's nice prize purse (can't compared to dh or esl ) ofc (maybe valve will add some extras ) . But i'm okay with country from around the world to compete at least in one competition . Cmon there is always same bunch of Top 8 - 10 teams ofc its good we got good match . Maybe japan or other region (we don't use to see ) will get smashed . But it's like in olympic game it's good to see this open to others countries at least Once per year . Lets ems dh esea sltv or others for very good team . And keep eswc as a world fashion tournament show .
