FACEIT League with $50k, LAN finals

FACEIT has announced another edition of its CS:GO league, this time featuring $50,000 in cash prizes and LAN finals.

Less than two months have passed since the end of FACEIT's Spring League 2014, which was won by Virtus.pro, who beat dignitas 2-0 in the grand final to collect the $10,000 cheque.

This time around, FACEIT is taking things to a whole new level and not only has it upped the prize purse to a whopping $50,000 but it also has arranged LAN finals for the league, although the dates and location of the event have not yet been revealed.

FACEIT League 2 will also be reaching out to North America, which will certainly make the event much more interesting.

The European League will consist of eight teams, six of whom are invited by FACEIT, while the remaining two will come from qualifiers. The top four teams from this regional league will progress to the LAN Finals.

As for the North American league, it will feature six teams, four invited and two that will come from qualifiers. In the end, the top two sides will get spots at the LAN Finals.

The qualifiers for both the European and the North American leagues will take place in August. While there will be four open qualifiers for Europe, North America will have just two.

The top two teams from each pre-qualifier will then make it to the closed regional qualifiers, where they will be joined by four other teams that are invited by FACEIT, totaling these tournaments to 12 teams for Europe and eight for North America.

Hope they change the format. Still think Dignitas kinda got robbed in the final, even if VP did win one bo3.

We know there were mistakes last season, even though overall we felt it went well! The mistakes made have been learned from though, so don't worry about that :)

We have been working a lot on it. The last three weeks have been the first with autobans for some of the detections and we had over 100 bans in the last 10 days (out of c.10,000 players). We do not announce these kind of stats yet cause we do not want too much information about the anticheat to be public, but i can tell you that we are doing a lot about it.

Hi, could you email us why you think it's bad? Happy to look into your feedback and try to make it better for you as well. Not sure when you tried it out, but over the past 6-9 months the whole system has been improved a lot and today we have thousands of matches every single day. If you let us know your feedback we'll definitely do something about it, as we always do :)
