dignitas eliminate NiP

dignitas have secured their place in the semi-finals, defeating NiP 2-0 (16-4 on de_cache, 16-11 on de_inferno).

NiP elected to play de_cache first - a choice that dignitas were all too happy to punish them for. The Danes took the first pistol round, and from then on rarely let up, picking up the next six rounds as CTs.

The Swedes were finally able to reply in the eighth round, but it was only a momentary reprieve; NiP couldn't build any momentum on the T side, and managed to take only two more rounds for the half.

Needing only four more rounds to take map one, dignitas surged forward on the T side, winning the pistol round and the two that followed. NiP halted dignitas’ assault in the first buy round, but the Danes were unphased, hitting back immediately to close out de_cache 16-4.

dignitas dominant throughout the series

Map two, de_inferno, found NiP starting on the oft-favoured CT side, a much-needed advantage that they ultimately squandered. Dignitas traded their calm and methodical playstyle from map one for a much more relentless and aggressive stance, which helped them take the first half 9-6.

At the half, NiP started to wake up, and fought their way back into contention with some great plays that were much more reminiscent of their performance at previous tournaments, at one stage tying the score.

In the final rounds, however, the stalwart defence of dignitas inevitably proved to be too strong. The Danes thwarted whatever NiP threw at them, winning the map 16-11 to close out the best-of-three series with clean sweep, and ending a long-term losing-streak against the Swedish team on LAN.

dignitas will now meet Virtus.pro in the semi-finals, after they avoided an upset by tournament dark horse London Conspiracy.

So happy for Dignitas, they really deserved it. Fetish´s seemingly simple, but perfectly carried out tactics is giving alot of problems for the other teams ;) Good luck guys, keep going!

NiP looked damn weak the whole tournament, and I hope they crush in the groupstage in Cologne. Also imo I think they should remove inferno and add vertigo in the map pool.

Cant disagree with that :D Well, is NiP late starters? Seems so. They were also very shaky at Dreamhack major almost going out in groups two times in a row, just to clean up in playoffs.

Obviously NiP haven't done themselves justice this tournament they look a bit rusty after their prolonged vacation. Fifflaren actually played quite well, so did f0rest from time to time but the overall performance was too bad. They will comeback in ESL Cologne and show what they are all about

No changes need, all players were bad (forest was decent but no more) If you think that was the real nip than you never saw them playing before. I'm sure they'll wake up before esl. Just like they were shit before dreamhack summer and eventually they won that.

+1, even though he did some strange things. But he wasn't the only one, everyone did something strange in NiP that they shouldn't have done. And everyone have a rating under 1 except for GeT_RiGhT for the whole tournament and that says a lot :/

Lol,they had a break,they were in vacation :) I think NiP didn't prepare at all for this tournament , no strats and not hiting their shots it's enough. Gtr was shit all the tournament,he have a rating above 1 because 1 good map in groupstage , but in all the defeats gtr was fifflaren 2 , in 22 rounds he did 6 frags on inferno ( except that -4 in that 2vs4 with friberg ) , f0rest and xizt were decent , fifflaren like usual , friberg one good round against fnatic that -4k deagle , strange performance anyway by NiP . In their place I wouldn't come to this tournament and stay home preparing for ESL.

What are you even talking about? GeT_RiGhT only had one map where he had negativ rating in groupstage. He was not shit the whole tournament he was their most consistent even though he didn't play on his level, just like everyone else in NiP. And in the game against dignitas he had 1 or 2 kills less than f0rest on ct-side, and f0rest had one 4k against eco when they all attacked friberg. But I agree with you that saying NiP didn't prepare that much for this tournament, in praccs and their own playtime.

I know that GTR is your fav player but you must admit it that this is the 2nd tournament in a row were gtr played ban and did the wrong calls,it's awkard to see gtr having such a bad timing because he is the lurker,he is the guy to make the difference late in the round .

Dinitas orga should be very happy that they finally picked up not another random British noobs (sry sry for insults) but those Danish madfraggers. I hope they will win the tournament.

Finally overcoming NiP @ LAN in a BO3. Great job! Seems like device, dupreeh and xyp9x are really stepping up. Wondering if it's helped with the addition of a more compliant player (aizy), even though he statswise ain't shining.
