zonic's zoom: Inside mTw
I will talk about our performance at SEC and what our expectations for SLAP and DH are.
SEC
As many of you guys might know we attended the Samsung European Championship last week. We started out bootcamping at Sunde’s place, like I wrote last week, and things went smoothly from there. We took the mTw bus down to Hannover, checked in at our hotel and just started talking about the next day (where it all began).
The next day we woke up, we went to the event about an hour before our matches were supposed to begin. We started out facing the Greek team Vatos Locos, who is a team I’ve personally haven’t heard of. We got a shaky start and lost the match, a match I really felt I didn’t play in, and a weird experience we are trying to deal with, till next tournament.
Anyways we won our next match and were finished that day, knowing next day we were facing roccat on train. We talked about the match in the bus on our way to the hotel, we knew we were gonna lose the match if we continued the play we played against Vatos Locos.
We looked some demos through and started to know how they played, and we felt confident going into the game. But also knowing that if we lost the game, we would consider ourselves being in a critical moment in our career. Anyways we ended up beating roccat 16-3, starting T on train, and there we knew; “hey guys! Nothing is wrong, come on!”
The Ukrainian team Amazing Gaming was next on, a map we had huge problems on last year, de_inferno. We won 16-6 and the German team Alternate was next on nuke on which they just demolished our fellow Danes SoA on. We felt confident about the match but the experience with Jonas came to an end.
Our b1 nuke simply just got owned by the Germans, and Jonas who is covering in B1, is used to a whole other style of play (Gravitas) than ours, however he has been doing great in the tournament and we are still behind him 110% me, him and ave couldn’t put anything up with them, and we lost a match we were leading 14-10.
KoTH (XplayN.com’s King of The Hill)
Tonight we played the Danish team Gravitas in the Danish “King Of The Hill” which is a tournament held by XplayN.com. We don’t know the new team in Gravitas, but we know the players, and it’s a really talented team with some new players who definitely can do some damage. We didn’t see any demoes because we feel it destroys our game, and that paid off. We played our own game, and we had no problems beating them on the first map, de_inferno, with the scores; 12-3 as CT, 4-1 as T (16-4). On de_nuke we won 16-8, so goodgame to Gravitas! We are the KINGS now!!
SLAP & Dreamhack
In about two weeks we are heading to Aarhus to play SLAP, we have a title to defend since we won the last SLAP. We are looking forward to SLAP, and we are expecting a win, and we feel with SLAP and Dreamhack we can be 100% ready for WCG/ESWC with Jonas, because it’s great official training. I don’t know a lot about Dreamhack, other than mibr should be attending, and I also think SK and fnatic will show up. Our Dreamhack expectations are at least a top3, we a so ready to win a huge tournament soon.
That’s it for now, cya next week guys!
