apEX: "It's eight really good teams"
After LDLC's top placing in group B, Dan "apEX" Madesclaire shared his thoughts about facing Na`Vi on de_inferno and expectations for the other groups.
LDLC and Na`Vi met in what was one of two really close matches of the tournament, but in the end came out on top, taking first place in group B. Dan "apEX" Madesclaire talked to HLTV.org about the match and more:
You just finished what was the second close match of the tournament, let's talk about your Counter-Terrorists side on de_inferno, which wasn't ideal.
Dan "apEX" Madesclaire: "It's the first game of the day and sometimes to start CT is a bit odd, mainly on a map like inferno, because it's not really a CT map, it's also a T map. Sometimes, when you're not in the game, you can lose many rounds stupidly, and that's why we played so bad as CT. We lost like 7-4 and managed to come back at 8-7, so it was not good CT side, but we were in a good shape after we lost so many rounds."
During the half you had a pause, which was not really explained, can you tell us what happened?
Dan "apEX" Madesclaire: "It was my keyboard, it didn't work, don't know why. Once I was killed by GuardiaN, but I couldn't shoot on him, because it wasn't working. That's why it was a pause, but my keyboard works on other computers, so they changed the computer and it worked.
Let's go over to the T side, which obviously went a lot better for you. Walk us through the Terrorists side from your point of view.
Dan "apEX" Madesclaire: "Even after 8-7 as CT, we know we are freaking good on T side. That's why we were a bit confident, not at all, because it was eight rounds to win, so it's a lot, but we were confident, because we know our strategies are good and we know their CT playstyle. That's why we won the T pistol and the first gunround after, it was a bit hard, but we managed to win 16-12."

apEX knows any matchup will be hard for his team
In the last round, you won in an eco, can you tell us about the round?
Dan "apEX" Madesclaire: "We have a good eco on the A site, they were going three banana and we knew that, so we did our eco on A, we rushed arch and there were so many kills. After it was three-on-three and we knew that there were two an A and one on B. So we went B, I killed the CT player and then we were two on two, I killed one guy and Happy one more, it was a good eco."
What do you think about the other groups, how do you think they will pan out?
Dan "apEX" Madesclaire: "Group C, I see Virtus.pro win, but my mate Happy thinks fnatic will win the event. I would say Virtus.pro, cos they are really good at the moment. With fnatic, I think fnatic will win again with iBUYPOWER. When you win the first game, fnatic won the first game, and if they lose to Virtus.pro, they will face iBUYPOWER again. This game is pretty odd, cos you know that you beat them already and you have to beat them again. For your mind it's fucked up, it's really odd, but I think fnatic.
For group D, I would say dignitas of course, cos they're a freaking strong team and I hope Titan, cos they lost yesterday against Cloud9, but they were much better than them. They lost too many rounds four on two, four on three, it was not them. I know them, normally they never lose these rounds."
As the last question, who would you rather face?
Dan "apEX" Madesclaire: "The thing is, NiP is second, Titan are maybe second and fnatic will probably be second, so it's too many good teams. As I said, it's eight f*cking good teams. I don't care to play against someone, I would play against the guys and we will see what happens, I don't prefer anyone."
After Copenhagen Wolves and Na`Vi finish their match, group C is up with fnatic, Virtus.pro and iBUYPOWER, expect interviews with some of the teams mentioned above.
