dignitas overrun Titan

dignitas have secured the last spot in the ESL One Cologne playoffs following a resounding 16-1 thrashing of Titan.

dignitas, who got to start on the highly-favoured CT side, enjoyed a good start after winning the pistol round, in which Titan attempted a ramp rush, and the two anti-eco rounds that followed.

In the first gun round, Titan went for AKs only, and so it was with little surprise that Henrik "⁠FeTiSh⁠" Christensen got a kill outside with the AWP. The French team still tried to go for an A split, but they were taken down one by one.

After losing the following eco, Titan went for a full buy, this time with Kenny "⁠kennyS⁠" Schrub picking the AWP. However, the French sniper was killed early in the round by FeTiSh outside, leaving his team with a really difficult task at hand. Still, Titan tried to work with what they had and pushed ramps towards the B site, only to be taken down by the Danes.

Titan no match for dignitas

As the first half wore on, it was clear that Titan were having a very hard time to get their game going. The French side came close to winning the 10th round, where Edouard "⁠SmithZz⁠" Dubourdeaux, surprisingly the one from his team using the AWP, got two kills outside, followed by another kill from Adil "⁠ScreaM⁠" Benrlitom. Titan were in a 4-on-2 situation but still managed to lose the round as their players were spread out across the map.

After calling a timeout to figure out what should be done, Titan finally managed to get their first round of the game with a ramp rush. dignitas almost retook the bombsite and defused the bomb, but kennyS, hidden in the smoke, saved the day in a 1-on-3 situation.

That was, however, as far as Titan went, as dignitas regained control of the match immediately after, shattering the French team’s economy, with the Danes going on to take a commanding 14-1 lead into the second half.

A fast rush from dignitas in the second pistol round was the final nail in Titan's coffin, and so the former VeryGames side are eliminated from a major in the group stage for the second time in a row.

That's not what I exactly meant. What I'm trying to say is that he misses some shots that shouldn't lose because he tries too much to ONE TAP. There are some situations that you can't go for one tap. You need to know when you should go for one tap, or for spray, for example.

Apologies for calling you a moron, but it did come across as a pretty ignorant comment. I understand that sometimes it may be better to spray for him, but he actually does spray if you watch all of titans games, it's just more his style to tap. I don't think it's because he cares about stats, more that it is how he has learnt the game, it's ingrained into his style to tap.

No hard feelings. :) I know that may sound as a ignorant comment, but I've seen Titans' last matches and in my opinion he just goes for the one tap 'thing' in the wrong situations. I don't know, maybe he could study that a bit more. But yeah, of course it's not his fault that Titan lost that way. They lost as a team.

they're low men, they got knocked out in the groupstages at the last 2 majors plus bad performances at some small tournaments. They're far away from that top2/3 team they were before... Shox just took the best option he had, epsilon has been much better

Totally agree. Especially considering that Titan knew that Dignitas would be ensured to start on CT side before they had to veto any maps. Which 2 maps could possibly be more important to ban than nuke under those circumstances???

Aizy has really stepped up frag wise so far, while Xyp9x - and a bit unlike him in my opinion - has been lacking behind. I hope he steps up his game because he is usually so stable, and aizy keeps the fragging going strong...and then this tournament is in the bag! ;)

I like how mods delete my comment i said the truth i didn't lie its in the history of france butthurt much that the most failed team ever got knocked off the tournament? Id think so this team has everything in terms of conditions to train and they still can't get past group stages in majors. They play the same boring slow style for years this worked okay in the start of CS:GO it wont now game evolves and when most of the 1.6 pro came to CS:GO the game became faster paced something failed saucers can't handle, and i mean failed saucers because there are source players out there who are actually good but this titan lineup is overrated and needs a change in either working ethics or over all squad changes even tough they swapped so many players since they started that prolly wont help them. Once again surrendered under pressure = not a top team.

#179 nuke was tough map in all version of cs what is your point? Also nuke delivered some of the most hearth breaking games in 1.6 it is a very good map. The only thing that ESL could of done better is to allow a knife round so they can let the winner decide wich side they wanna start. But that's it don't tell me titan starting T was the deciding factor of their 16:1 loss because it isn't.

Dignitas are the best in the world on Nuke in my opinion, with NiP very close, i was expecting Dignitas to win, but not by this margin.

Titan need to re-create themselves: Happy shoxie NBK kennyS Kioshima ScreaM's consistent 1hit only policy doesn't work anymore, it became more than a show.. EX6TENZ is a fine leader, sometimes im impressed by how great tactically he is but then again, the guy is always force buying and doesn't learn from his mistakes at all. So hiring him as a tactical adviser would be superb. SmithZ is decent but i dont see his role when kennys is awping.

this must be an alternate universe, how does Titan lose a game, ANY game, 16 - 1. With players like scream/nbk/kennys, with all their prep and time playing together, in a tournament worth this much money. Thats fucked up. They will either need to make a roster change or they will lose sponsorship, take your pick.
