i52 with €9,400 prize pool

The latest edition of the Insomnia Gaming Festival will take place this week, with €9,400 up for grabs in the CS:GO tournament.

i52 will run from August 22nd to 25th at the Ricoh Arena, in Coventry, and according to the organisers it will be the biggest event in the history of Insomnia, which is UK's largest gaming festival.

As usual, there will be several eSports tournaments taking place, including a CS:GO competition with a chunky £7,500 (€9,400) prize purse.

Sign-ups are still open, so the participants' list provided by the organisers is not finalised, but amongst the teams who will attend the event are Infused, who were in action at G3, and a new fm-eSports lineup apparently led by Neil "⁠nEiLZiNHo⁠" Finlay.

The prize breakdown for the tournament is the following:

1. €4,700
2. €1,880
3. €1,225
4. €565
5-8. €280

its been known for years that multiplay charge fucking loads for iSeries events, thats why you get the earlybird instead and even then it is still quite a lot.

I had to contact HLTV to get this post sorted & I agree it would've been nice to have had it posted a long time ago as European teams may have taken the gamble to attend. However the sponsors apparently came in for the event a bit late or something and they didn't have enough time to push it as they'd have liked. We're trying to get CSGO Lounge on our side at the moment and hopefully if they co-operate we might see the return of i-series back on the map for CS events.

The problem in the UK scene is that there aren't any solid line ups who are sticking together. Even infused who proved successful & capable of competing against the greats in Europe at G3 have undergone/are undergoing a roster change. It's not that people don't love the game & just in it for the money for everyone...

You are best to just watch the stream. Expect little to no coverage of I series nowdays :/ I was quite happy to just see this post tbh. On the multiplay website they have a schedule for the whole event, group and playoff times as well the finals.

I do remember when in france we shout (a bit) for expensive ticket when it was about 50 or 60 € for gamers assembly ( wich is a gaming festival ) but god damn it 97 pounds its about 115 € YO WTFFF ???? Every french lans (decent ) prize is around 25-40 € . How the fuck you can pay 115 € to go on lans . I mean its okay if you love playing or anything but 115€ damn . There is Pxl in south of france (most loved lan ) since its a really good atmosphere to play with friends . Prize is around 25 € everyone happy to come & play . Most top players comes as mix not with the team

iseries is the biggest gaming festival in the uk and can be expensive because they know ppl will pay up, there's 2 competitive lans in the uk, epic lan and iseries. hopefully gfinity invest into the uk scene and create a national lan!
