fnatic destroy NiP to win CKoTH #7

fnatic have destroyed NiP 16-0 on de_dust2 and 16-7 on de_inferno to win the 7th edition of Caseking of the Hill.

The 7th edition of Caseking of the Hill cooled by Alpenföhn started with NiP, who won the previous two editions, on the throne. Their challengers this time were mousesports, who lost to them in CKoTH #5 final, and fnatic who hadn't taken a shot at the throne since the inaugural edition when they lost to LDLC in the semi-final.

mousesports were back to playing with Oliver "⁠kzy⁠" Heck as Andre "⁠nooky⁠" Utesch's retirement set into place after the team's 2nd place finish at EPS Germany Summer Finals, and they tackled fnatic whom they previously beat to win Hitbox Arena Championship 2.

In what ended up looking like a stroll, Markus "⁠pronax⁠" Wallsten led his squad to a convincing 2-0 victory (16-1 on de_dust2 and 16-6 on de_mirage) despite having to play the second map with Dennis "⁠dennis⁠" Edman as a stand-in for Olof "⁠olofmeister⁠" Kajbjer, who was under a DDoS attack.

With that win, fnatic had exacted revenge on mousesports for their loss in the Hitbox final, and after that it was time to meet NiP, who they also recently lost a final too, only at a much bigger stage – ESL One Cologne.

And once again fnatic made their opponents look underwhelming, defeating NiP with an incredible scoreline of 16-0 on de_dust2 after a perfect CT side. Map two, de_inferno, wasn't much better for ESL One Cologne champions either, as fnatic took 10 rounds on the T side and the converted it into a 16-7 win.

Oh, I certainly still rate NiP as #1, but when is the next big LAN event anyway? Not sure NiP would be saving strats quite yet. Fnatic are playing extremely well right now, it seems that the roster changes have strengthened them to something beyond the sum of their parts.

ESL was like the peak + luck + other teams playing bad for them to win, and they just beat fnatic who is on the rise after only a month really playing together, so yes they need a change, it's amazing how long there line up has lasted really, but all good things come to an end. Heaton of all people should know this and he should do whats best for his organisation and let someone go for the better. They are all too comfortable and when you are too comfortable you start to lose a lot. But hey "they won ESL" lol. How long is that going to be said.

Nip won esl one cologne with pure luck. Atleast against cloud9 and ldlc. Wasnt it for cobblestone cloud9 would have won that series and maybe the whole event. Need lack motivation/changes and we all know that their results are weak. Quarter exit at gifinty, with huge luck won esl one and now a total rape from fnatic with their first 16-0. Something has to be changed.. their gamestyle, their tactics, their motivation/training.. Goodluck in the future nip.

That might be your opinion, but not mine:) If teams didnt want to play cbble versus NiP they could have vetoed it, so that map pool excuse wont stick with me:) NiP are a great team, and the level of competition we saw at Cologne might have been at the highest level so far in csgo history. So to win an event like that you have to be a great team. I'm not gonna make a big debate over this because its pretty much pointless. Just sharing my own opinions:)

Of course they could have vetoed it, but you're forgetting the fact that they vetoed 2 other maps that they felt they couldn't beat NiP in. So, the last map is being chosen randomly and it somehow managed to be Cobblestone both times.
