FalleN: "KaBuM to attend ESWC"

KaBuM! are set to attend this year's ESWC finals, Gabriel "FalleN" Toledo has revealed.

The last time a Brazilian team attended a big tournament goes back to November 2012, when ProGaming.TD were sent packing at DreamHack Winter in the quarter-finals following a 0-2 defeat against Ninjas in Pyjamas.

Since then, the only time a Brazilian team competed abroad was at Campus Party Equador 2013, where ProGaming.TD beat local side pvore 2-0 in the final.

FalleN & co to go back to the big stages

Gabriel "⁠FalleN⁠" Toledo, without a doubt one of the most experienced players in the country, has now confirmed that his KaBuM! team, who compete in three different FPS games ( CS:GO, Crossfire and Assault Fire) are only waiting for the green light from ESWC to start preparations for the event.

"The guys from ESWC have asked us to wait for the official announcements in the coming days," he wrote on Facebook.

"So, for now, everything indicates we will be at ESWC 2014."

Last week, KaBuM! cemented their place as the number-one side in the country after winning the Brazilian Series of Games, an eight-team event, following a 2-0 victory over ProGaming.TD in the final.

ED1K is only playing for fun matches with hooch, mice, Dosia and co rarely (at least in near past), he doesnt even understand the game well nor had the will to learn it really and decided to step down from official gaming for good and try to commit to "real life" things and he did confirm in one of his audio interviews that ROMjkE has disappeared right after M5 disband and doesnt really keep in touch with anyone doing his own thing somewhere... FalleN and fnx are the experienced and the core players, fer is probably the best Brazilian at the game, hen1 and Lucas are brothers that always have been playing on top 10 Brazilian 1.6 teams, they are good. I don't expect a good run, but if they manage to play at least three majors per year they can turn into a competitive team.

Finally a real international tournament to look forward to. Hopefully the Brazilian, Japanese and Chinese sides can make a good impression and convince someone to send them to bootcamp and attend majors. Australia had a spot each time now, it is time for other continents to get their chance at a major spot. India had a one as well, but they practically were invited because the ESL puts business before fairness. There should be Asia-wide qualifiers for majors.

CrossFire is a very popular game in Brazil.Some majors championships, some companies etc etc. We dont have help from big companies and championships to CS:GO but FalleN have a project named "Games Academy" and with BenQ, Razer, ESEA, are helping to change this. But if you want to be a pro CS:GO player in Brazil, you cant focus only in game because u have many other commitments to do in real life. I have a "tier 1" team in Brazil. We won some championships and we dont have any support, for example.

Nice to see them in an event. I doubt they will finish top 8 but it would be great to see them attend events more often. They would probably have a shot if they would stop playing those other 2 FPS games. Maybe a BR team in the top 12 in 2015? ^^
