ESEA Finals teams found for S17

Regular season has finished in both Europe and North America and the eight participants for ESEA Invite Season 17 Finals have been determined.

In Europe fnatic reigned supreme with a 15-1 record, followed up by dignitas, the new Titan roster as well as mousesports, who just pulled out of the Game Show League Finals.

NiP decided to drop out of the season to focus on other events this fall after a slow 2-4 start. Virtus.pro were the fifth place finishers, barely missing out on the Finals.

Torbull's ESEA will host one more Finals event in 2014

In North America defending champions iBUYPOWER remained on top with a 13-3 record, followed by three teams at 11-5; Cloud9, eLevate and the former LunatiK roster, now known as Denial.

This means the following eight teams will be traveling to Dallas later this fall to take part in the $47,500 event:

Sweden fnatic Denmark dignitas France Titan Germany mousesports
United States iBUYPOWER United States eLevate United States Cloud9 United States Denial

ESEA Invite Season 17 Finals are currently scheduled to take place on November 21-23, though the organizers are considering moving the event to a date after DreamHack Winter.

i wouldn't be so sure... C9 on LAN can be pretty kickass if they are on point, also fnatic.... they are good but they are douchebags so, LAN time = Fear to get face beaten by fat hiko and crazy shazam. 10/10 fnatic won't win

On the other hand, this is a extremely expensive journey, and if the organizers choose to move the dates to after DH, the planetickets will only be way more expensive. I can easily understand why some organizations hesitate to send their team.

And at somepoint the team will make results. If they wont attend ESEA Finals, i cant really blame them. This is a huge investment. I would say that travel costs is nearly 5000 USD, and this is without hotel. The fact that two of their players have to make some work for their sponsors and due to that cant get visa in time is unlucky, but this is what happends. I dont know if you have been on the scene long enough to remember the russian and chinese teams early, but they had visa problems all the time. You have to put up cost and benefits as an organization, when you send your team to an event.

Tetris isn't very competitive. Compared to games that aren't based on skins or slow and clunky movement or shitty centralized matchmaking, and instead are only based on player skill and improvement, it's absolutely massive :)

Besides some of the quake games, non of these games have ever made it to a real competetive level, and therefore i cant really say anything about them, but i guess there is a reason they didnt make it. Even thou theres skins in CSGO, LoL and dota2, these are stll games that require a shit load of player skill and constant improvements.

Most of them are only played competitively, and aren't on the "COMPETITIVE LEVEL" because not enough people play it. There are cups and leagues and tournaments all the time, and the games take more skill than CS:GO or mobashits. The reason they didn't make it is because there is no advertising for them. Like I said, many are free and open source projects, you really have to go looking to find the perfect games to find them, you don't just get them thrown at you to download. CS:GO, LoL, DotA2 require very little player skill. If anything it's mostly memorization and just forcing your body's muscle memory.

No.. It was 12-0 c9 and then the match got Ddoss and iBP was too embarrassed of how badly they were losing so they report a FFL to esea so it looks like they didn't play. They are the biggest bunch of arrogant and sketchy faggots. They have no integrity, and people wonder why every one in america support c9 and not iBP. Well that's just another reason added to the very long list that grows exponentially daily. End of my rant lol

easy money in the bank for fnatic edit: also, this is where mousesports stops being a joke and starts being a serious problem. instead of us seeing a real lan team like vp, they are blocking their spot because they can melt face online for whatever illegitimate reason. i say mouse should stop being invited to online leagues if this lan event becomes a replay of earlier ones.

ROFL. Onlinesports over C9 on LAN? please. His list is pretty accurate, people like to claim Dig messed up at ESL against C9, yet both teams did, and Hiko just outplayed them in that 2v4.

That's fine, but you're the one that thinks Onlinesports > C9, which simply isn't true. Or you're just trolling, who knows.
