fnatic to semi-finals over dignitas

fnatic have progress to the Dreamhack Stockholm semi-finals after beating dignitas 19-16 on de_cache.

fnatic, who had already acquitted themselves really well on this map against 3DMAX, came out the brighter and picked up the opening two rounds of the match. dignitas then went on a buy, but the move backfired, leaving the Danes' economy in shambles.

The home side added six more rounds to their tally to take a commanding 9-0 lead, and it was only here that dignitas finally managed to win their first round of the game. However, fnatic quickly regained control of the match thanks to double kills from Markus "⁠pronax⁠" Wallsten and Freddy "⁠KRIMZ⁠" Johansson in the A site.

Until the end of the first half, dignitas still secured two more rounds, but Henrik "⁠FeTiSh⁠" Christensen's side knew they had a mountain to climb as they found themselves 3-12 at the break.

And a mountain they climbed: dignitas strung a whopping nine rounds together at the start of the second half to level things up at 12 rounds. For the rest of the half, it was neck-and-neck, with the match eventually going into overtime.

fnatic then played a perfect first half of overtime and took an 18-15 lead after winning all three rounds as Terrorists before sealing a 19-16 victory that takes them to the semi-finals of the tournament.

fnatic are going to win this event, if LDLC players go bananas individually they can beat them otherwise nobody can stop them

Think we just saw one of the problems fnatic have. Their T side isn't spectacular on any map. Have them start T and things doesn't go their way the frustrations can start to build up, specially with JW, who missed so many shots and tried forcing things after they started loosing rounds.

none of them are out yet - winner faces dignitas.

the semis will be played tomorrow, the match is a lowerbracket match in the group stage. Its fnatic vs Titan in one of them and LDLC vs the winner of the upperbracket match of Dignitas vs CPHW/3DMAX in the other.
