Property member Joel "emilio" Mako has told HLTV.org that he hopes Valve will help him prove his innocence.

The Swedish player was VAC banned half way through a fragbite Masters contest against HellRaisers, leaving the casters and the fans in shock.

Property have temporarily been suspended from the competition as fragbite is looking into the matter before making a final decision.

Contacted by HLTV.org, Joel "⁠emilio⁠" Mako stressed that he is innocent, and called on Valve to back his claims.

"I am leaving this in Valve's hands. I cannot prove my innocence, but I know they can," Mako told HLTV.org.

It's happened a handful of times, but it's an extremely rare occurrence and there's no reason to assume it was a mistake. If it really was a mistake it'll get overturned.

Its rare, but it CAN happen. VAC is not flawless and some programs that arent hacks can cause a VAC ban. In addition to that, I heard of players getting banned during training for using some sort of mod, or smthg.

Heard about cfgs having banned people back in source, and video editors in source pretty much couldn't avoid the vac ban, because the program they used had a chance to vac ban them, which was what happened to tweeday.

There have been false positives, but they have been more to do to the whole banwave, not individual bans.I have a personal experience of being VAC banned for a while in a false positive banwave 9 months ago. The ban got cleared pretty quickly from my profile.

you must not play a lot. x-spectate (or whatever it was called back then) made several false vac bans, the esea client triggered vac bans, Modern warfare 2 had like 12k people falsely vac banned, it's happened several times. Considering the polish guy also got VAC'ed and his ban got lifted - I'd rather reverse judgement until they investigate his ban further. It would probably be a good thing if a more known player gets wrongfully banned, so they'd put some more time and resources in their anti-cheat system. It's always plausible to get banned for a mod, script or something.
