CEVO-P S5 finals set to start

The CEVO Professional Season 5 Finals will take place today, with four teams battling it out for the top prize of $5,000.

Held at the GXL Universe LAN in Philadelphia, the event will feature the top four sides of the online stage, including North American giants iBUYPOWER and Cloud9, both of whom will also be in attendance at the FACEIT League Finals and at the ESWC finals later this month.

The event was initially supposed to feature just $7,500, but crowdfunding brought the prize pool up to $10,000.

Cloud9 will take on Denial in the semi-finals

A double-elimination, best-of three, format will be used for the tournament, with iBUYPOWER taking on NetcodeGuides.com, and Cloud9 meeting Denial (formerly known as LunatiK) in the semi-final stage.

Below you can find the semi-final matchups and also the timetable for these matches:

United States iBUYPOWER vs. United States NetcodeGuides.com 15:00
United States Cloud9 vs, United States Denial 17:30

The $10,000 prize purse will be split as follows among the finalists:

1. $5,000
2. $2,500
3. $1,500
4. $1,000

You mean the "hot matches"? I can only see semi-final matches listed there. No info about the UB final match.

American day/time, translated to European day/time for a guy in SE Asia. It can't possibly be more complicated than that :D It's 9 pm, Friday here, so I don't even know what qualifies as "today" xD

Curious to see how Denial performs on LAN and hopefully the outcome of this LAN will determine whether or not they change the roster a bit.

They will do better than NCG thats for sure. You could see Denial in LB against c9/ibp. Wouldn't suprise me if Denial win LB and go to finals of this LAN.

Can't always be right. Pleasant surprise to see NCG doing well in the tournament. Huge disappointment in Denial too. Hopefully they bounce back and show some results at ESEA LAN.

I wouldn't look to much into that, it was their first major LAN and they can only improve.

5000$ is puny, you've stuck your head in the LoL scene for too long. They should be grateful they get to show off their talent for any money at all.

Cevo is joke. Professional league with that long of a season and total prize fund of 10k? Really? If they were in Europe nobody would be playing in their crappy league.

Worst LAN ever. c0tton and cklops are some of the worst casters I have ever heard. The amount of delays and shitty equipment is unbelievable. The stream looks like shit. I think CEVO should be disbanded as a league and another started up in NA.
