fb disqualify Property, ban emilio

Fragbite Masters have reached a conclusion in the situation regarding Joel "⁠emilio⁠" Mako's VAC ban, and have chosen to ban him, and disqualify Team Property from the tournament.

When emilio was banned in the middle of the match against HellRaisers a couple of days ago, the match instantly halted and Fragbite decided to investigate the situation.

In the end, the Swedish organizers gave Team Property fourty-eight hours to find evidence suggesting that emilio's ban was a mistake, but they could not provide it.

"I cant prove that my IRL friend is the one that have been cheating, and I know it’s retarted to even lend him the account in the first place," Joel "emilio" Mako told Aftonbladet.se

"But to my excuse, I really didnt know that all your accounts gets banned if 1 gets effected. If I knew that I would never ever give him the account because I would never risk my career!"

Fragbite Masters have therefore decided to ban emilio from all future Fragbite Masters seasons - though it's something they are open to revisiting if new evidence comes up.

In addition they will be disqualifying Team Property from Fragbite Masters Season 3, which means the match against HellRaisers will not be continued.

Situation

The player Joel "emilio" Mako of Team Property was VAC banned in the middle of a Fragbite Masters group stage match. Team Property were given 48 hours to investigate the ban and to give evidence proving that the ban was faulty.

This is a unique situation, to say the least. In all my years of doing Counter-Strike content and events, this one is a first.

Ruling

As no evidence has been presented, and as the VAC ban is still intact with Mako's account, we have no choice but to disqualify Team Property from Fragbite Masters Season 3 with the reason: Cheating. As for Joel "emilio" Mako, he will be banned from all future Fragbite Masters events.

If additional evidence is discovered and presented to the organizers the case can be revisited. But for now, this case is considered closed.

Furthermore, according to Fragbite emilio has been removed from Team Property following the team's disqualification, leaving them with just four members:

According to Team Property's management, the team plans to rebuild and will be announcing their new member as soon as they're ready for it.

You can't share games (like CS:GO), that hold on to cd-key Info in order to play (VAC secured games can't be shared). Same happens with Ubisoft games, for example (you need the steam account and an Ubisoft/ubistore account as well).

I think it's obvious that he cheated. If his story was to be true, then he could have proven his words (with Steam guard logs) and have the ban (probably) lifted. Since he's not willing to do that (even though he has a reputation & pro player career lose and insists he is innocent), nah, not plausible.

I think that if he really didn't cheat, he'd give us all the evidence like that and the case could then be probably investigated more thoroughly. Eg. they could review the games "his friend" was playing at somewhere else. If it in the end was deemed that the cheating occurred on some random MM game, his ban would probably be better off lifted. But he's not willing to help us in the investigation at all which pretty much proves him guilty.

If emilio not jokeing about lending his account to a friend then my suggestion to you emilio is to write valve a letter about that and tell them to give you the IP adress from which pc the account was accessed at certain dates. If it confirms that account was accesed from another Ip adress (another pc) then you might be clean :) If not then Gl at VACation man

Except he probably accessed his account from multiple locations and multiple IP's already, so he can just pick some ip's and mark them as "this login isn't mine it's my friend" and we would have no way of confirming that.

Assuming he's being honest here. I think someone needs to reevaluate his friends. Also it doesn't make sense for him to not try and work something out to clear his name. Where are all the details about who's your friend, what acc did you give him and when? You can't imply that you value your pro career and then do nothing besides putting a rubbish excuse. Also if he's a real friend of yours.. how about he comes out and confess his guilt? Regardless whether he's guilty or not - his approach is wrong both ways.

But if you haven't cheat, at first you will have trust in Valve to correct the mistake. Meanwhile you investigate a bit and you found those (BS or not) linked account VAC ban.
