FACEIT to host DH Winter qualifiers

FACEIT has announced that it will be hosting the European and the North American qualifiers for DreamHack Winter.

From November 27-29, DreamHack will be hosting its second major CS:GO tournament, featuring 16 teams from all over the world and a whopping $250,000 prize purse.

Once again, FACEIT has teamed up with DreamHack to host the online qualifiers for the Swedish event, with five places up for grabs in the European tournament and one in the North American section.

This weekend, FACEIT will host two qualifiers that are open to up to 256 teams. The top four teams from both cups will move on to the regional finals on October 21, in which they will be joined by eight invited sides.

The top four teams from this closed qualifier will automatically earn a spot at Dreamhack Winter, while the sides who place 5th-8th will face off in a last-chance tournament for the last place in Jönköping.

Below you can find the links to sign up for the two European open qualifiers:

In North America, there will be two open qualifiers taking place this weekend, each of them giving out two places to the regional finals, which will also feature four invited teams.

These eight teams will then battle it out in the closed qualifiers from October 20-21, with the winning side securing a place at DH Winter.

North American teams can sign up for the open qualifiers below:

All teams interested in applying for a spot in either the European or the North American regional finals need to email FACEIT at [email protected] and provide their team name, region (EU or NA) and previous achievements.

I see it coming already. "16 teams.." Bo1 group stage and a single elimination playoff format so it's extra super duper random and boring to watch.

8 invited teams + 5 from european qualifier + 1 from NA qualifier = 2 more spots left So this means there will most likely gonna be an Australian qualifier again and 1 random team India or something like that...

Shame they won't provide the same kind of accommodations to the qualified teams as they do to the invited teams, but the same time it's fully understandable.

"A new aspect about this new major is that the event organisers will offer the 16 teams a special pre-event bootcamp, in order to assure that all participants have the best possible training conditions going into the tournament. DreamHack and Valve have decided that they will offer accommodation to all the teams during their stay in the Swedish capital." seems like every team gets the bootcamp etc?!
