cajunb returns to dignitas

dignitas have announced that they have re-signed René "cajunb" Borg.

The move comes just hours after dignitas' disappointing campaign at the FACEIT Finals, where the Danish team finished 5th-6th with one victory from four matches and a -34 round record.

Even before the Italian event dignitas had been linked with roster changes, but the team have only now decided to act, just days before the ESWC world finals, in Paris.

Philip "⁠aizy⁠" Aistrup has now been released after failing to impress during his five-month stint, with his replacement coming in the form of René "⁠cajunb⁠" Borg, who was without a team after leaving Copenhagen Wolves earlier in the month.

"I'm really glad to be back on the team! I know that we had our issues last time, mainly because of some attitude problems from me," he told dignitas' website.

"I realised that I have to change to get this working. I was selfish the last time and I had the mentality that I was "above" the team which is wrong.

"I was stubborn and I'm ready to start from square one again. We will attend ESWC next week with a small amount of practice, but I'm sure we will do well anyway.

"The biggest challenge for us will be in November when we will attend Dreamhack Winter. At last I want to thank Team Dignitas for giving me this chance again."

dignitas have been drawn in ESWC's Group D, alongside iBUYPOWER, 3DMAX, mousesports, GPLAY and Cipangu.GO. Their first match in the French capital is against the Finnish side, on Friday, at 09:30 .

With these changes, dignitas now have:

Lol...cajunb WAS way better than aizy and still is. Dignitas removed cajunb because of his attitude problems, just like he even stated himself above. They had to choose between aizy and gla1ve a few months ago and chose aizy over gla1ve. Yeah, aizy was good at first and did well for the most part, but as time went on, he went down hill for what ever reason(s). Because of aizy not performing like he used to, Dignitas decided to remove him and give cajunb another chance. Cajunb was great and still is great, which is why they are giving him another chance, just like how Titan aka ex-VG game shox a 2nd chance after they removed kennyS for him a while back, some time in 2013 I believe.

You make me laugh rofl. You clearly do not know what FeTiSh brings to the team. He is their IGL and an awper when needed. Over the past 2 or so months, every time someone like gla1ve had to sub-in for FeTiSh because of his conflicting work schedule, Dignitas have either struggled to win or just flat out lost their games. Yeah, FeTiSh may not be the best aimer, but like seangares and Fifflaren, he brings a lot to the team that Dignitas need from him. He's not on the same level as Fifflaren or seangares (he's better than both of them), but he brings something to the team that nobody else does.

Gonginator you should really watch Thooorin's video on Fifflaren and how some people, just like yourself, believe in this 'magical role that no one else could do as well as him'. That role is a myth that you bring up without being able to describe what it is. CS:GO is more competitive than ever before, the skillcap has been raised significantly, and you can no longer consistently win anything without playing 5v5. 4v5 isn't going to work anymore, and all the teams you mentioned have noticed that lately.

Pimp is up and down all the time. As he states himself, he needs to bank in alot of hours on DM to be hitting his shots. Individually he is better than Fetish, yes, but as you mention Fetish is the igl and brings alot more to the table. xyp9x shows the most stability of any danish player and that is why he is loved. People, like you, have a tendency to think a team should consist of 4 mad aimers and an igl to keep them in check, but never notice the movement, the positioning and the general intelligence of the player. Whereas Pimp has a rash playstyle. Ultimately, pimp better than xyp9x? right now, maybe, next month.. who knows.

Actually he laugh because you only have the mindset to look at his recent play. Look back at DH Sthlm and before than and Pimp was not doing well. There was a reason for his Sthlm play, but non the less, he does not show the same amount of stability as xyp9x does. Other than that, pimp has some minor glitches which can affect a team in a negative way. Pimp looks better on paper, xyp9x is better when it comes to the team and individually they are very far apart in terms of playstyle. There is a reason to why most danish players would go with xyp9x over pimp. Stats doesn't show everything.

I don't get all the hate towards fetish. He is the whole foundation of dignitas in my opinion, also as an igl he is not supposed to carry the team. The only danish player close to his level as an igl is glaive. I like both players and I think people underestimates both way too much. + cajunb is a beast, but I hope he can pull himself together.

I actually think a lot of people overrate Fetish. I keep hearing how sick he is as an IGL, and that Dignitas would fall apart without him. But you need five players with serious fragging power to be number one in the world these days, and that's what all teams are wanting to be. -fetish +gla1ve ... as long as they wouldn't just fall flat on their face with a change like that.

No you don't. The only team that has that is LDLC and they are inconsistent, because shox puts too much on himself and that their tactics are based on their individual play. Which is the mentality you get when you put a star player to be the igl. It was the same in Episilon, where everything rested on his shoulders. Stop looking at stats and base the whole world on it.

fnatic and LDLC are probably two of the very best right now, and they both got 5 player able to frag. At the end of the day you win games by fragging. fnatic is probably the most dominant team right now and pronax is fragging a lot. He is very good at combining it. Examples from 1.6: Na`Vi had Zeus fragging as well and dominated the scene in 2010-11 mTw had ave fragging and was the second best team in the world at that time fnatic (Xizt, karrigan, Friis, trace, MODDII) had five fraggers as well and had very few tactics, they chose to rely a lot on the individual skill and it worked just fine as Xizt fragged a lot and they became the best team in 2012.

i dont see aizy "coming back" to Cph Wolves - the only player he could replace would be cadiaN - and then Pimp would have to play awp again which i dont think will happen. I agree on your thoughts on Wolves, and as we've seen before: Glaive does not concur on Pimp playing awp. So IF this has to happen, I guess tenzki or Kjaerbye has to go. Which I don't really see happening. And as far as I know, aizy isn't in gla1ves good graces are joining dignitas. We'll see after ESWC!

Fetish is the reason aizy failed. He was doing shit nobody with a brain would do like running into the same pre nades every round etc. This is just hard headed strat calling. That being said cajunb is one of the three best danish players so they're better off but its a shame for aizy who is clearly better than he was showing in dignitas

Seems like an interesting change. I've never got to see Dignitas/Western Wolves play with cajunB in the mix, but I have seen cajunB play with Copenhagen Wolves. He's a strong AWPer, but him and his team could never close out a game. Hopefully with this new Dignitas lineup, Dignitas can be restored to their former glory. (They seem like NiP, used to be good, but now they're struggling.)
