TaZ: "Thank you, LDLC"

Wiktor "TaZ" Wojtas shared his emotions after the Cloud9-LDLC match putting them through, and told us what he thought about the remaining two groups.

Virtus.pro were in deep trouble after they lost to Cloud9, they made up for a part of it by defeating LDLC, but they still had to keep their fingers crossed for LDLC to make it at least 16-9.

You couldn't have got a better picture of his emotions right on the spot thanks to the video we took of the winning moment, but Wiktor "TaZ" Wojtas shared even more in the following interview, as well as some input on all their matches and other groups.

That's it in terms of interviews for day one at ESWC 2014, you can expect more of these during groups C and D and also more exclusive content  before the end of the day.

I understand being a fan of a team. I can also understand being angry cause your favourite team lost important game etc. The thing i can't understand is pointless crying over HLTV that another team (chose any) is shit. If your team lost shouldnt you be cheering them up for a change?

They deserve it. C9 blew it, and they can only blame themselves. That said, it's painful to watch 3 excellent teams go 4 - 1 in a group and only 2 get out.

To allow the small teams who come from China, India, Mars and Pluto to play all games, make them enjoy the tournament and to make them more known. There is no best format, just different formats with different purposes, contexts, etc...

there is nothing wrong with the format. It just ended as a tie what is obviously rare; but still, average round is the best way to split decisions like in any other sport ... thats somtimes 'unfair' but thats the way it is. very sad for c9 but they didnt win their match enoughly largely ... even if they deserved to go further as they have the potential to do so much better against any other team qualified.

I'm actually not salty about skins - C9 actually won me a shit ton today when they beat VP (LOL) What I am pissed about is the fact that C9 have been screwed over twice because of a bad way of determining who advances and who doesnt. I said change the rules for the second and third place because putting in an extra one game is no big deal, whereas an extra three games can take up quite a bit of time. Learn to use that brain there, kiddo.

Are you seriously not able to see that your proposition would make things even more unfair? You are saying that it's unfair to rank teams with the same amounts of points based on the amount of rounds they won, then you propose a system that treats the first team differently than the second and third team? Either way you use round difference for every team or you don't use it at all and use only points and in case of a tie you play it out.

And when it goes to the exact same thing? C9 > VP VP > LDLC LDLC > C9 What then? Keep playing until someone finally does something differently, or just do one game?

You made a good response with some good arguments. Brought up some key points on why you said what you said and how the event might benefit from it. Then you add the unnecessary extra sentence. "Learn to use that brain there, kiddo." Why, just why?

Becuase when people assume that when someone wants change it is because the team they bet on lost them skins and they're pissed. Don't get me wrong, I like skins, but I would much rather see good competitive CS:GO that is fair for all the teams than ever place a bet on CS:GOL again. I dunno, just pissed me off I guess that people instantly assume that I'm pissed off for the wrong reason.
