Platinium upset NiP on cobblestone

Platinium-Servers have delivered the first real upset of ESWC 2014 after defeating Ninjas in Pyjamas 16-10 on de_cobblestone.

The French team, who secured a spot in the tournament following Algerian side E4US' withdrawal due to visa issues, had lost their first two matches of the day, a 12-16 defeat against HellRaisers and an 8-16 loss at the hands of Titan.

In the first half of the match, NiP picked up seven rounds, a fairly decent effort from the Swedish team considering they were playing on the Terrorist side of the map.

However, NiP were stunned on the CT side by the French team, who turned in a fabulous performance in the second half to inflict the ESL One Cologne champions their first defeat of the tournament.

There is now a four-way tie at the top of Group C between NiP, Titan, HellRaisers and CPH Wolves. The Swedish team continue in the race for a spot in the playoffs, but they will have to up their game to move past HR and Titan, their next opponents.

I can see what you mean here. IF they now finish second in the group somehow and they havent showed any new tactics to the better teams they might win the event. They are just not showing their tactics until the elimination rounds. Thats quite genious but they are taking a big risk. Thats what happend to SK in CS 1.6 :DDD Or maybe they just lost on cobblestone? :D

think about it, what is the best way to : 1) hide your tactics 2) make everyone think you are weak ? 3) avoid current best team (fnatic) ? Answer : Lose a B1 on a shitty map vs a meaningless already eliminated team. Such masterminds, such wow.

I get what you mean and by the book they are playing it perfect if they are thinking in those ways. Though its a risk by like 1 round diffrence and you are out (if you go for the #2 in the group). You saw how VP got saved by LDLC in this tournament by knocking out C9 even though C9 beat VP. But if someone can manage this its NiP. I hope for the best. So this toxic community can shut up about their performance. But lets hope for the best. It would be devastating for NiP (and Sweden) if it went home from brackets. Many risk, such play, w0w.

As much as they could be quite confident with HR, because they havent showed anything good in ages,they dont have that confidence with Titan that is more likely going to rape them. what facts you have to back it up? nip practised it for esl cologne, won vs fnatic and c9, and raped fnatic on it again only 1 week ago. while platinum never even had any reason to practice on it, since so little teams play it. map is really bad excuse here m8

yeah esl cologne was like 2 months before. things change. i bet that they practised other maps more against their usual opponents like ldlc, titan, hellraisers, dignitas etc instead of practising cbble (which is going to get vetoed 90% of times). I bet platinum practised cbble because they are an unknown team noone has antistrated them and cbble was the perfect playground.

The hilarious part is NiP barely beat C9 on it while C9 only had played ~8-9 rounds total on it, in Europe, since nobody plays it in NA. And it was only due to the time running out 2-3 times and that stupid spot C9 didn't check in A, cause they didn't play the map enough.

NiP aren't a top team anymore, no upset here.

Beaten by a tier-2 team on one of their best maps... NiP revolutionized the competetive game in cs:go before other team had, they dominated because of it. Now that other teams are cought up to them stratwise, I feel like they have become unconfident and their confidence was what made them better than good - it made them great. I'm sad to say but this might very well be the end of the NiP era.

The 6 months old vac ban was made by a known french hater using speed hack, aim bot & everything, claiming he had hacked the acc and wanted to get it banned...
