HR & Titan through, NiP eliminated

HellRaisers and Titan have made it out of group C, while NiP are eliminated from ESWC 2014.

In an action packed day of CS:GO, group C brought the most excitement so far in the tournament as after three rounds four teams stood on top with the same amount of points - NiP, HellRaisers, Titan and CPH Wolves.

Each of them still had a chance to go through, but HR and Titan took the leading spots after the next round as the Frenchmen beat CPH Wolves 16-5 on de_dust2, and the Ukrainians won over NiP 16-10 on de_overpass.

Going into the final round of matches, still nothing was settled as NiP had a meeting with Titan scheduled and HellRaisers were up against KaBuM.

However, in the deciding clash of the group the Swedish Ninjas crumbled and fell to Titan 1-16 on de_dust2, thus getting eliminated from the tournament. That also secured a spot in the playoffs for Kévin "⁠Ex6TenZ⁠" Droolans' team, who wound up second to HellRaisers who beat KaBuM 16-5 on de_mirage.

NiP ended up with a 2-3 score in their group

All 8 playoff participants are now known, it only remains to be seen whether dignitas or iBUYPOWER will top group D.

NiP is RiP. I think fifflaren was bottomfragging each map I saw them play today. And don't use the "he's IGL now" excuse. Xizt doesn't suck dick just because he's the IGL, neither does Neo/ex6tenz -fifflaren +HeatoN

Now hopefully NiP will realise that they need to kick fifflarren or they should start training like koreans (starcraft 2) just to play 4 v 5 all games and hope to win all matches like 16-13 .

Long post but it's the best post. This is why I hate NiP atm: It's mostly about the retarded decisions the management and the players make. How they still refuse to do any lineup changes when there is better talent floating around that really wants to be apart of their organization. They're old farts. If you want to win anything at this point in CS:GO, you need 5 skilled players of more or less equal skill. 5 buddies that love each other isn't enough, and they're too stupid to realize it. It was enough in 2012 and 2013 when the game was underdeveloped and they were the only team that had reached their skill cap, but times are changing and they're never gonna catch up until they wake up. They're like Charlie Chaplin who kept on making silent films into the 1930's when movies with sound had already taken over. But then he smarted the fuck up and made The Dictator, just like NiP should. HeatoN faced a similar situation in 2007 or whenever it was, but he smarted up eventually and retired because he understood that others had caught up and surpassed him in skill. Time to realize that once more, HeatoN.

People will argue it was only because of the map pool but the final map was won on inferno, and the Semi final was won on nuke against LDLC. +1 Although if they don't do well at DHW, I would imagine there will be a massive need for changes, because a) they have not made two LAN tournaments (FACEIT/Fragbite) & b) they have now gone out of group stages in the last two LANs they have played at, both with respectable prize pools. If they don't make at least Semi-Finals at DHW they will need to revamp. The biggest issue is when GTR/f0rest struggle, the rest of the team seems to struggle, and it's really dragging them down now. People will always point to Fifflaren, but the issue is, back in 2012/2013 and even at Cologne, if GTR/f0rest didn't play well, Xizt/Friberg would be excelling enough and Fiffy would be pulling socks up to plug the gap.

maybe the problem was> they are not used to playing against teams of this level here in Brazil ... the time of the game made the difference for Europeans but I've seen and know that they have the potential to reach far.

They played well, they had nice mirage tactics for T side and OP was very solid. I would like to see them play like this everytime, watching dust2 was frustrating but maybe they needed some warmup.

They'll need longer than to DHW to adapt to the new challenge. Strats don't just write themselves, let alone prove themselves strong enough under the test of a competitive LAN. I would guess six months or so would be reasonable to expect an improvement from the line-up.

Lol, didn't NiP only recently win $250,000 for coming first place in one of the biggest CSGO LANs? The only difference between the NiP of 2012-2013 and the Nip of now, is that now other teams are able to mount a more serious challenge to their in game dominance. It's up to them to adapt and that takes time. It took other teams some considerable time to even mount that challenge. Of course instead of the kids on HLTV seeing that as a positive thing for the scene, throughout the entire day all the worthwhile match threads have been lost under a mountain of halfwit 'omg NiP plox disband / -fifflaren' crap. Fucking morons.
