NiP, fnatic, Cloud9 invited for MLG

Major League Gaming (MLG) has announced that fnatic, Ninjas in Pyjamas and Cloud9 have been invited to attend the X Games Aspen event, in January.

From January 23-25, MLG, together with ESPN Games X, will host a CS:GO tournament in Aspen, Colorado, with eight teams in attendance, coming from Europe and North America.

This will be MLG's first attempt at hosting a major CS:GO event, with fans being able to follow the action in person or via MLG.tv.

It has now been announced that Swedish duo Ninjas in Pyjamas and fnatic, and North American giants Cloud9 have all received invitations to attend the event. Mikail "⁠Maikelele⁠" Bill is included in NiP's roster for the event, which could mean he will stay in the team after DreamHack Winter.

Meanwhile, MLG stated that details about the online qualifiers for the event will be released in the coming weeks.

Since only one pro has been banned so far, there is no 'rate'. But yes, I do hope a lot of them get banned. It would be a lot of fun and shock and also refresh the scene and give new people a chance.

Why are you guys complaining about nip getting invited? They won the last major and has been in the finals of the other 2. They are the best team in cs:go history. Doesn't matter that they've been underperforming for the last months, they'll bounce back..
