ESEA S17 Finals viewer's guide

The ESEA Invite Season 17 Global Finals will start in less than eight hours with the All-Stars match, take a look at the viewer's guide if you're wondering when your favourite teams play.

Eight teams were drawn into a double elimination best-of-three bracket as usual, with four coming from Europe and four from North America. Before that though, some of the stars from each team will be seen during the All-Stars match, which will kick off the action in Dallas, TX.

iBUYPOWER are the back-to-back reigning champions, as they came out on top of seasons 15 and 16, who will try to get a hold of a share of the $47,000 prizepool split between all eight teams as shown below.

1. $20,000
2. $6,000
3. $4,500
4. $4,000
5-6. $3,500
7-8. $3,000

Don't forget that the map pool is different to what we're used to from tournaments held in Europe, as we can see Season and Train on the list instead of Overpass and Cobblestone.

de_nuke
de_dust2
de_inferno
de_mirage
de_cache
de_season
de_train

Veto system also isn't quite the same in comparison with other organizations' systems, ESEA uses the 1-2-1 veto process, which works as follows:

1. Away team removes one map
2. Home team removes two maps
3. Away team removes one map
4. Home team picks map one, away team picks the side
5. Away team picks map two, home team picks the side
6. Remaining map is map three, home team picks the side

Take a look at the full schedule of the tournament below:

Saturday, December 6th (days are according to CET)
00:00 Europe All-Stars Europe vs. United States All-Stars NA BO1
01:30 United States iBUYPOWER vs. Poland Virtus.pro BO3

Also note that following Hovik "KQLY" Tovmassian's VAC ban, Titan decided to play in Dallas with their coach Jeremy "ioRek" Vuillermet, while mousesports called upon the services of Fatih "gob b" Dayik, who will play in Aleksi "allu" Jalli's stead.

Tune in to one of the streams in our Stream section once the games go live, the show is kicking off with the All-Stars match at 00:00 , followed up by two matches from upper bracket round one at 01:30 .

I think NA tournaments should be played early, and EU tournaments should be played late. That way both sides of the Atlantic could watch and they would maximise viewership.

what? considering it's a murican event, it's EXCEPTIONALLY good. Only the first batch of matches is played in the night, the rest is in the evening for Europeans. I'd argue they have it as good as Americans overall.

Something tells me fnatic is gonna wipe the floor with all the amerifats and eurobads. Only VP will put up a decent fight

Sillu that Overpass is not in the pool, it's really fun map. More entertaining than Season imo.

5 mix teams, the underperforming Cloud9, and VP and Fnatic. How exciting.

I love how big of a prize difference there is from 1st and 2nd place. I think 2nd place should be 10,000 and 7-8 place finishers should get 1,000.

brings out the best performances of the players. closer the money is clumped together, the less that's on the line. complacent play can't be entertaining.
