MLG Aspen qualifier information *

CEVO have announced that they will be hosting the MLG X Games Aspen online qualifiers, held from December 14-21 for both North America and Europe.

* UPDATE #2: The first European qualifier, bracket two, has been moved up by one day to avoid conflict with ESEC LAN Finals.

* UPDATE: Schedule of the tournament has been changed, the second stages of the first NA and EU qualifiers will be played over the course of four days.

Three teams have already been invited for MLG X Games taking place in Aspen, Colorado from January 23-25, those being fnatic, Ninjas in Pyjamas and Cloud9.

Five more slots will be handed out via five online qualifiers in three regions. Two teams from each North America and Europe and one team from Brazil will be joining the teams above to fight for a share of the $50,000 prizepot.

Skadoodle's iBUYPOWER will be the favourites to qualify from NA

Two open 128-team double-elimination best-of-one qualifiers will be held for both North America and Europe on December 14th and 20th, with eight best teams qualifying for bracket two.

In bracket two those eight teams will join eight invited ones in a 16-team single-elimination bracket, played in a best-of-three, with the winning team getting a spot for the finals in Aspen.

Here is the schedule of the qualifiers (full schedule can be found here). Keep in mind that the individual schedules for each bracket are very tight:

December 14th: NA & EU Qualifier #1, Bracket #1
December 15th-18th: NA Qualifier #1, Bracket #2
December 17th-19th: EU Qualifier #1, Bracket #2
Saturday, December 20th: NA & EU Qualifier #2, Bracket #1
Sunday, December 21st: NA & EU Qualifier #2, Bracket #2

Sign-ups for both North American and European qualifiers are already open, teams interested can register here.

Hitler was Austrian, bro. Austria (who was allied with Germany at the time) also initiated WW1 by placing an ultimatum on Serbians, who were allied with Russians.

Brazilian csgo scene started with KaBuM this year. And now we have KaBuM, GFX, Dexterity in the same level. (remember KaBuM won 9 rounds vs. KQLY's Titan while we don't have any kind of support). We have 3 potential teams to be tier2 and tier1 but we don't have support or a good scene to train. Czech Republic is right in the middle of Europe, but still doesn't have any potential teams.

The invites were handed out before dreamhack after iBP had already cut Dazed and steel. The MLG guys said they would have invited iBP if they kept their roster together. c9 was the best NA team at teh time with a stable roster.

it doesnt really matter anyways- its an NA qualifier. ibp is nuts online on home soil and should easily beat any of the NA teams. if they cant get through the online qualifier, should they really be there anyways? they probably need the experience also. especially if they play with desi instead of adren

Online qualifiers are stupid, you can clearly see that on ESEA regular season in EU, mouz actually made it and lan teams like HR, NaVi, VP didnt (VP got invited because Dignitas couldnt attend).

Denial op tho But again it made sense at the time to invite c9, you cant just cut half your team and expect get credit for past accomplishments. Im sure if they did the invites today they would invite iBP.

C9 had literally no one good to scrim or practice with after Cologne quals were over. iBP was in EU and everyone else in NA had absolutely no reason to play or practice cobblestone. At all. Taking NiP down to a few rounds is surely a sign they'd have plowed NiP under on another map or with a reasonable amount of time to work on cobblestone. Phone decided to reply to something I didn't click on. Cool.

MLG invited teams base on team's fanbase, not their result. So fucking joke if LDLC cant get a spot by some Godlike onliner teams :) I dont think this event is good. Just 4 slots for 1x good team from EU. How can Denial,elevate,iBP,Torqued...compare to VP,Titan,Navi,LDLC,Dicknitas,HR... ? 3 Slots for NA is fucking waste. I think it will be better if 5 slots for EU (2 invite),2 NA (1 invite) and last spot will be choose by 1 team from NA vs 1 team from Brazil.

It's an NA event what do you expect? EU events have more EU teams, yes there skill level is higher and there are more teams. Titan can compared to iBP since they lost to them at ESEA, Dicknitas isn't that good right now either. Its a NA event, there going to have a 3rd NA team, this is a good thing so that NA teams can grow and try to catch up to EU. NA CS will benefit which is needed right now. Still 4 EU teams, 3 NA. Quit your whining.

I am just wondering, why they are not putting Australia to the qualifier, instead of Brazil, I know that Brazil have good teams, but I just think it could be a bit more interesting to see Australian teams again, it's so long ago we have seen a team like Vox Eminor, on a big scene, last time was at ESL Cologne if I am not wrong, they are talented, but just too long away from everyone else to get a chance.

It's probably way more expensive to send an australian team to Aspen than a brazillian team. Also, I assume a brazillian team would bring more views. Such is the world, $$$ is almost always a priority over skill and fun (I'm not really saying one is worse than the other, just pointing to the way this matter should be seen).

Hmmm yeah, it's just the fact that Team Vox Eminor, without doubt would have pretty decent chances to go through the qualifier and beat at least team like Cph. Wolves. Yeah, but Brazil teams would without doubt get a lot more viewers than Australia, mainly because Brazil is such a big country in sample of Australia.

Is adreN staying with iBP or will they bring back desi, IMO they should stick with adreN since he has loads of international experience and amazing game sense, which will greatly benefit AZK since he is new to the IGL role.
