CIS Rising League #2 with $2,000

The organisers of the CIS Rising league have announced the first details about the second edition of the tournament, featuring a $2,000 prize pool.

After a lengthy season that lasted almost six months, the first edition of CIS Rising came to an end on December 4, with dAT Team defending the top place they had secured in the group stage following a 3-2 victory over Nostalgie in the grand final.

For the second edition, which will run from December to February, the tournament's organiser, Ermakov "MPKBK" Andrey, has indicated that teams will be forced to follow a much stricter schedule to prevent the league from dragging for too long again.

B1ad3's dAT Team will try to defend their CIS Rising title

Instead of just six teams, CIS Rising will now feature ten participants, who will face off in a round-robin group stage. The top four teams will advance to the semi-finals, which will use a single-elimination, best-of-five format.

"I want to thank the international community for warmly greeting the first edition, which had terrible delays," Andrey told HLTV.org.

"I did a lot of mistakes throughout the season: I tried to keep matches from colliding with major events, I was too soft in terms of allowing teams to schedule matches and my efforts to keep teams from changing their rosters were fruitless.

"All this is in the past and conclusions have been drawn. Now, we are supported by Zowie and Twitch.

"As promised, the second season will have an English caster, who will soon be announced."

Below you can find the participants' list for CIS Rising Season 2:

hey t3hkat i see u everywhere even on lex's stream but dont be such a dick about it. the guy who hosts the league once posted on a CIS match saying that most of the prize money is just twitch ad revenue. give him some credit for trying to set up a league for these guys so they can at the very least play some official matches. i don't think the players actually care about the money because none of them dropped out last season

we had around twenty eight matches in the first season, every game had around 80 to 20 odds. And only in two matches underdogs won: daT vs unnamed in 3 maps, where first map came into two overtimes. 97club vs Nostalgie. After that Hooch&co almost defeated daT Team in the final.

Yes, Spiders won cis qual in ESL league with ESL Wire(99% anticheat) , but MPKBK kick this team without explanation. This dude does not even talk to us, he kick team Spiders and call their friends to join this league (Quit and Check6). And why should there be this qualification MOPKOBKA??? Young players do not develop in the CIS... All players from team Spiders were on the LAN tournaments in Moscow, St. Petersburg, Kiev and Krasnodar, and show good game, but what that idiot said that we cheaters?! About players DavCost and s1mple also said that they use hack, but they played last season CIS Rising and nothing terrible has happened. Where is the justice?
