dupreeh: "We will change it all"

dignitas member Peter "dupreeh" Rasmussen has shed some light into the roster changes the team have undergone.

Earlier in the month, dignitas decided to breathe some life into the team following a string of disappointing results on LAN and replaced ingame leader Henrik "FeTiSh" Christensen with mousesports veteran Finn "karrigan" Andersen.

These changes have produced immediate results, with dignitas having kicked off their ESL Pro League campaign with a 2-0 success over myKPV.de before defeating fellow countrymen uber n00bz in the first MLG Championship qualifier, also with the same scoreline.

dupreeh slams dignitas' Terrorist game

And Peter "dupreeh" Rasmussen says that, while removing FeTiSh from the team was a very hard thing to do, something had to change for the team to aspire for more.

"Removing FeTiSh from our roster was a big deal," he wrote on Facebook. "He had been part of the team since the day we created it.

"He had a lot of great results in CS:Source and a few ones in CS:GO, too, but something had to be done.

"Personally, I got too comfortable with our playing style, with the way I played both as CT and T. Even though we tried to change things, they were barely noticeable, to be honest.

"The reason we removed him was simple: we wanted to try something new, we wanted a different playing style and someone else to take the ingame control.

"For so long we had tried to change things with Henrik, but only a few changes had happened. Now, pretty much everything, every role, every position, every strategy and mindset will be changed.

"We are not just going to change a few things, we will change it all. It is time to update!"

dupreeh went on to address the signing of karrigan, whom he believes that fits the bill as the players needed someone to learn from.

"We were not looking for someone that could get 30 frags every match, nor someone who could be the best individual player ever," he declared.

"The person we were looking for was someone with loads of experience and a dedicated mindset. Besides from that, it had to be someone that would hopefully think outside the box and think in new and interesting ways.

"The most vital point is that was someone with great communication skills. Honestly, I think we might still be one of the worst top teams ou there in terms of communcation, which may explain the few rounds we get as Terrorists.

"Everyone on the team could use some lessions in communication. That is why we figured out that karrigan would be a great person to add to the roster.

"I am very confident about karrigan and our new team, and I hope we can prove everyone that we can also play well as T, since I believe we are one of the strongest teams out there as CT."

? Big words? He's just saying they're going to try a whole new game style, how can he fail at that? Of course he says he's confident in his new line-up, if you're not confident in the choices you make, you're doing something wrong.

They just said it wasent about getting frags. We cant know if Fetish was the problem or not, we can just hope they made the right choice.

Well, how could you know?? Let's say (theoretically) that FeTiSh - as the caller - goes into a very defensive mode at LANs, trying to play it safe and thereby playing a different style then they usually do (which they've been critized of doing by e.g. Thorin), forcing players like device and dupreeh to play differently then they're used to. That would make it FeTiSh' fault, right? As the ingame leader (or any leaders in generel) it is your responsibility to best utilize the strenghts of your players/employees. What difference does it make that FeTiSh is topfragging at LANs if he uses a playstyle that doesn't best utilize the skills of his players? In this case they didn't believe FeTiSh managed to do so (at least at LAN), which I actually agree on - in my mind they're better than the results they've produced recently. Also there's the whole issue of poor communication during games, which they also wanted a new ingame leader to take control of and sort out. Consequently they've turned to karrigan, hoping that a different leader and playstyle will better utilize the skills and potential they have, as well as sorting out how they communicate. Now, only time will tell if karrigan turns out to be the right choice, but I understand the reason for making the change.
