99Damage Arena #3 announced

99Damage.de has revealed the participants' list for its third Arena Cup, featuring $2,500.

Powered by Dailymotion and Aoc, the 99Damage Arena cups are two-day tournaments featuring five teams and a King of the Hill format with four rounds, each one played in a best-of-three mode.

The winner of each round will advance to the next stage, where they will take on a new opponent. The prize for every win will increase by $250 after every round all the way to the last one, which will feature $1,000.

The winner of each Arena Cup is the team that makes the most money, who will then be invited to take part in the next edition of the tournament.

Below you can find a picture that will help you understand how the system works:

mousesports won the first two Arena Cups, and, just like it happened in the last edition of the tournament, they chose to play only the last round, meaning that they will fight for only $1,000.

For the third Arena Cup, which will take place from December 22-23, 99damage also invited GPlay, the winner of the ESL SEE Championship, myKPV.de, Team Orbit and ESC Gaming. Below you can see how the match-ups look like:

Match #1 Germany myKPV.de vs. Bulgaria GPlay $250
Match #2 Winner Match #1 vs. Sweden Team Orbit $500
Match #3 Winner Match #2 vs. Poland ESC Gaming
$750
Match #4 Winner Match #3 vs. Europe mousesports $1000

hltv should be able to get more sponsors with the growth of csgo and them being the biggest cs site. fragbite runs 50k tournaments. 99damage got their own tournaments.

mouz didn't choose to only play the last match, the rules see the winner of the previous Arena seeded into the final.

No, the winner picks the round in which they want to start. They picked the last one because they wanted to.

This tournament has got a very decent "springboard" concept behind it. It gets to clarify the situation between tier 2 teams in an entertaining way, largely depending on what is being said and jeered at forumswise ;)
