Final version of de_blue released

Sorry, I appreciate this news is old. However after many requests I thought I would do a feature on it!

de_blue was created by Vincent "Coucouoeuf" Bailleul and has been released to foreshadow a 32 team cup to be played only on de_blue. de_blue is the start of many promising changes for the ESL. The cup will be a massive test for the map as it will effectively decide if it is suitable for competitve play!

The creator said this about his creation:

"Both bombsites are quite spacious and offer many gameplay opportunities. For example, there is that classical thick and central pillar on the A bombsite to turn around when you want to cover your bomb. Spots and meeting points in the map offer very long distance fights like close ones. Well, I am a fan of de_nuke gameplay you know… Everybody can enjoy himself on this map, those who wield the greedy green gun as people using automatic rifles. Speaking of backups, the two bombsites are linked to each other by a transverse that can be employed in several ways: there is a quite classic underground passage or you can choose straight corridors. There are a lot of trickjumps in this map, especially with the suspended lamps on which you can climb."

same with me.. it's a quite complex map, very nice to play, offers many opportunities for tactics and different styles of play. i also like the modern layout and look of the map, i think this is what we need in the official mappool. dust2 and inferno look kinda old.. really cool map ;) but need time to get to know it ;)

It's a really cool map, i agree, i can imagine that it would be a perfect pub map, but i see and hope no future 4 it in the official scene in cs 1.6

It's actually not a rly difficult map. The thing is you don't play it enough :) I know the map kinda good now and I think it's a really good map for ESL.

I start download now... its truth that its difficult map but only why its NEW and we need some time! In fututre we will play this map as normal as we play now ect. nuke or dust2 nvm... More coments soon as i try map by myself

The map sucks imo .. so colour full which makes a map like a map for ladies.. and it have the skins like in CSS and I hate CSS.. thats y I didnt like it..

I think the map looks rather nice. I think the real question is that is this map going to be played on any big lan event? Maybe through that channel it could get to that "official maps" group.

it's like a aim map, totaly new style. And i don't think that there is much tactical potential in this map. be fast or be dead.

hm. Tried it. It's not that hard, and it's not that big. And it can be quite interesting in tactical approach, indeed. But the colors really suck :( Personally, I'd like them to be more monotone... and not so bright.

i actually dont like the scene and environment it offers palm trees? who needs palm trees :< and somehow it reminds me of de_esl_autumn

every time the same shit you here when a new map is released: "oh I don't like it" "woo to big" "to complicated". That's just because you are used to play the old maps (nuke inferno dust train) In the beginning every map looks complicated or to big (the same thing happend with tuscan and the cplmaps, now everybody knows those maps and plays them leauges and cups) And ESL is a big leauge so people who play in it will have to get used to the map. So make your choise play de_blue or leave ESL

dont state it so drastically :) we of course shall have some new fresh maps but I think these textures and colors do not fit 1.6 ... if thered be at least dirt on some textures but maybe we will get used to this clear style ;) and tell me why are there palm trees? :/ mhmmm the environment (imho) doesnt fit a defuse scenario. :P the ways rooms etc may be placed well but yeah like I said b4 I personally do not like the style

WTF? After i downloaded did all like in the readme text i started New Server->de_blue->and then a message "Mod_NumForName: models/de_blue/ginsengavenger_palm240_256.mdl not found" What should i do ?

It is correct this man done a great job to make one map like this but i do not like it. Imo, textures are not so good and bomb sites.

There are some good ideas in this map.. I like A bombsite for example. But the biggest problem of this map is, that it´s too complicated - 1-2 ways to small site, 2-3 ways to bigger site and no more! Next, many people don´t like CSS because it´ s too colorful and there are too much useless things and it´s not good for official matches. This map has MANY useless things in my opinion. BUT I really LOVE cactus on T spawn :D So I think: Delete some useless things and ways, less textures. I understand that mapper want to create nice map - but look which maps are still playing and they are awful.. I think that reason why they (d2, nuke, etc.) are still playing is, that they are simple and there are no disturbing elements..
