As the year is coming to a close in less than three days, we're bringing you a highlight reel of ten best individual actions from 2014.

The year 2014 has brought a lot of intense tournaments, including three majors, and such tournaments are bound to bring out the best of players' capabilities.

We've completed the search for the top ten highlights of 2014, which you can watch below in the video with some of the biggest names of CS:GO, compiled by HLTV.org's own Radosław "MAKKU" Makuch.

yea and a lot of the other clips were kinda shit too. certainly nice actions, but not top10 stuff. nice, u happen to kill 5 people in a round. but was it all clean kills? all the people u killed were with the first shot/burst right in the head? not many of these were. i think fiffys ace against titan on d2 was much better than a lot of this crap bcs if i recall, he kills them all instantly. or shrouds ace on nuke a site when he was still in manajuma. there were a lot of plays more impressive than most in this video.

That shroud clip you mentioned yes. That was insane. Not JW getting a kill through a smoke, it's dumb luck, not amazing skill lol. GeT right had insane clutches. Friberg had insane rounds. Shroud has done some amazing stuff. Guardian has been sick. Olofmeister has been sick. Hiko has been sick. I don't get why it's only clips of 4k's/5k's, cause a lot of them the other team were on eco's lol. Friberg smashing fnatic was a full buy round, and he was on ~10hp for 3 of the kills he had.

I still don't think a lot of them are worth the top 10 spot. Hiko vs na'vi was a terrible clip. #10 steel vs overgaming another terrible choice. Nothing special, it was only pistol round. JW vs titan on D2 clip wasn't worth it. He had 1 nice double kill with 1 bullet. the next 2 kills were shit, and then 1 lucky shot through smoke, which isn't skillful lol. Plus the double kill was luck. It's just a full clip of luck really. Them 2 clips should have been replaced with friberg ace Vs fnatic. Shrouds insane 5k clutch on nuke, and one of the 100 sick clutches get right has pulled off.

Well I'm not here to argue over a difference of opinion since I'm sure if we asked everyone here for theirs we would have thousands of different top 10 rankings. Just pointing out there wasn't a single highlight against an eco let alone "a lot of them", as you said.

Hiko 4k vs. Na'Vi completely shifted the momentum for that game. It was HUGE. If I remember correctly, Hiko was the only one alive at A with the rest of his teammates rotating through ct spawn. If he died, that was a round loss for C9 in a very tight game. That's what you don't understand. This isn't so much a "top 10 best clips of 2014" as it is "top 10 most memorable clips of 2014". Both of jw's aces were hyped and memorable for most of the community. Shroud's 5k on nuke was sloppy and he even admitted it. Plus, it was against a crap team.

Everyone in this thread thinks fribergs ace Vs. fnatic was memorable. So steel's pisotl round ace was memorable? tat's the first time I've ever seen that clip lol. Hiko's 4K was very sloppy as well. Then there was Fribergs insane round against hellraisers on D2, which was massive as it won them the game. Far greater than Hiko's round, steel's round and JW's round on D2.

I'm not arguing against the inclusion of friberg's rounds. They were insane, memorable and crucial. But you can only pick and choose 10 clips in 2014. I think both of JW's rounds were so hyped that they HAD to be included, Hiko's round was arguably just as crucial as friberg's rounds, and steel's round was just sick as it was nearly 4 one shots.

There were 2 scenes and they were both sick, the only 'luck' I saw in there was the double and shot into CT spawn. There was also only 1 CZ kill... Pretty obvious you're just bagging on him for the sake of it.

There is not too much JW, there is too much forest. The clip on inferno was nice but the d2 clip where he killed 4 guys with his pistol against 2 flashed and 2 who were'nt even looking at him, that's almosta backstab so there was'nt really a whole lot of skill involved...

Great song choice for this kind of video, also nice option to keep the commentary OFF. I just feel that the frags are not the best 10 (especialy #2, they were all separated picks, can't see any science on it), like #36 pointed out, friberg had a couple of good actions to get on top 10.

As for #2 action - JW won the AWP battle with kennyS, 2nd shot is a great timing through the smoke then a perfect reaction shot on KQLY + another unexpected close quarter kill and ending it up with awesome wallbang noscope. You can't ask for more.. Btw. Rankings are based on ratings of HLTV.org crew

You are kind of right, don't get me wrong, I think it is a TOP 5/6 action, it's just the time he had to do all the thinking on the action itself, plus the clear team communication for the KQLY + library pick. It wasn't a super game read or action in my opinion, just good isolated frags :) But I understand that this is a subjective topic and it's very hard to pick + rank a top 10 of 2014.

ex-VG were easily top1-2. Yeah, they lost to NiP at DHW-2013 (1/2), but then they won vs NiP at DH Stockholm. They failed only once - in Katowice, and shox left straight off. They should have got rid of their gaming house, and may be replace NBK and SmithZz with apEX and kennyS, creating something like: Ex6TenZ kennyS shox apEX ScreaM. Then they would easily be the top1... I really can't understand, why NiaK couldn't convince their orga of uselessness of wasting so much time in the gaming house?.........

MAKKU, this is as a friggin' masterpiece and it makes me nostalgic towards the video-making communities of Source/1.6. There's just so much to love about this video. The camera angles; the introduction and subtle foreshadowing of each clip. The music; hype but not super-dependent and not-trying to synchronize the song with every darn kill. The appropriate use of slow-motion; just enough to highlight a "woah wtf what a nutty kill" moment, but not too much where it disrupts the video. As stated above, the choice to take commentary out; as much as some commentary bring life to a clip, you made it seem well off without it. 10/10. MAKKU fanboy. Well done.

MAKKU you shouldn't even worry about the people whining about this not being the right top10. There is no way on earth everyone will agree with the same top10. I personally miss the shox action in A site in dd2 and the Ex6TenZ 1 vs 5 against Na`Vi, but since you can't have it all, the video is perfect, good work.

Hey guys, I'd like to clear up a few things. The voting was done by HLTV staff, not just 1 person. Before you call them silvers, remember these were mostly the same people that won the staff cup so they do know how to play the game and are not silvers as some are suggesting. We voted based on the pure highlight itself, not the impact it had on the round or match. This is why snax's 'sneaky beeking' on mirage didnt make it. We did this because we wanted it to be relevant in the future. If you showed someone snax's clip in 2 years would everyone still remember it was done in a final of katowice? What about people who didn't see the event, are they going to walk away thinking that is actually a top10 highlight of the year when if you look at it objectively, its a 3 kill goblin into spray down. So the clips are purely what you see on the screen, no backstories or context required. With regards to ex6tence, this clip was not presented to us to be voted on, so i guess it was forgotten about somewhere in the process.

Great choice in song! Really digging it for a CS video. I think the only clip that deserved to be on there that wasn't, was Ex6TenZ 1v5. Of course this is just my opinion. If everyone had their opinion, I'm sure we'd see over 9000 different top 10 clip videos. Every other clip was a great choice!
