You guys voted for Communication this week, and I’ve been taking a good look at how I can help you.
I’m going to tell you guys about how we communicate in mTw.
We have a rule in mTw which is:
DEAD -> SHORT PRECISE INFO -> WHINE -> SCHH
Many of you guys probably think; why on earth is he writing "Whine" in the rule.
It's a simple answer, I'm not saying he should whine in like 25 minutes, but we had a sports-psychiatrist on the team back in 2007, and he was studying psychology in sports, and we tried to use his skills on us. Anyways, bottom of line is, that he actually meant whining were good for a player, not that you should scream in Ventrilo so it became even worse for a team, but just get his frustration out in the air. It would somehow "restart" his brain for the next round, but he had to work with it aswell.
Short precise info is probably the most important thing, we in mTw calls different things on the map for either numbers or short words, so it’s easy to pronounce or just makes the sentences shorter when a guy dies. A problem people have on de_nuke is the vents from Upper site to Lower site.
People call them "Left vent or Right vent" in Denmark, but what if you are on the different side from what the guy who is giving the info is. Then his left vent is your right vent, and it can cause a lot of problems.
Example
Split b1 - Terrorist
1 guy in yellow/hut is spotting a guy at the vent near the door, and he is screaming "1 guy at the right vent!!!"
Then 2-3 guys coming from main/gate (outside yard) into b1 and the guy on Ventrilo is saying "1 guy at the right vent!!!" The 3 guys are rushing into b1 looking at the vent near CT spawn.
In mTw we have made it simple:
The vent near the door = 2
The vent near CT spawn = 1
Another great thing in communication is to use your teammate’s names, for example if Sunde is covering popdog in yard on train and they smoke him and he can't cover the connection/link – (The link between b1/b2). Then instead of saying "I don’t have link" or "hey can go link" – then he says "Danny, watch out for link".
He highlights me, because if I'm 100% focused on b2 because Muhamed heard someone in there, and there is a lot of noise, then I won't hear what they are talking about in b1, unless they call my name. It's important you highlight your teammate’s names.
So if I need to summaries some great rules to get you starting in your team it goes like this:
1) Short precise info
2) Name different spots, but make them short like "ave spot" instead of "the 3 boxes where you can boost"
3) Whine is allowed, but useful whine, it’s allowed to get your anger out, as long as it not harming your team
4) Highlight your teammates names if the info is specified just for them
5) Loud & Clear
6) Highlight important info like if they are rushing ramp, then speak a lot louder than if you only were seeing 1 guy towards ramp.
I could write tons of things you could use in Communication, but I’ve decided to write down the important things, on the other hand you can ask questions in the news and I will answer as many as I can.
So state your problem in your clan, and I'll try to give you guys a solution.
