PENTA Sports have announced that they have recruited Hendrik "strux1"Goetzendorff and Johannes "nex" Maget from Planetkey Dynamics.

The decision comes as a big surprise as PENTA had recently established themselves as the number-one team in Germany after reaching the quarter-finals of DreamHack Winter and finishing in third place at the Acer A-Split Invitational, which they attended with Johannes "⁠nex⁠" Maget as a stand-in.

After rumours emerged of a potential merge between Planetkey Dynamics and PENTA Sports in the last few days, the latter have now announced that they have parted ways with Felix "⁠fel1x⁠" Zech and Robin "⁠r0bs3n⁠" Stephan.

Replacing the duo are two players from Planetkey Dynamics, Hendrik "⁠strux1⁠" Goetzendorff and nex, with Timo "⁠Spiidi⁠" Richter stating that the move was necessary for the team to reach the next level.

"We played for about six months with this lineup and it was always a lot of fun, the chemistry within the team was always very good, which means a lot," Timo "Spiidi" Richter told PENTA Sports' website.

"On paper we were the most successful German team in history (due to the DreamHack Winter 2014). Unfortunately, we played really inconsistently ,and whenever kRYSTAL had a bad day it didn’t look good for us. Moreover, we didn’t really have a shot caller anyway.

"At this point I want to give special thanks to r0bs3n, who put really a huge amount of work into the team and without whom we wouldn’t be where we are now.

"Nevertheless, it was not enough in the end, obviously. I don’t want to disparage our achievements but we made it to a point where we couldn’t improve our gameplay anymore. We are all really thankful to Felix and Robin for the awesome times we had. Since we secured the spot in the next CS:GO Major together we will of course share the received sticker money with our former team mates. That’s just fair.

"Coming to our new players: Due to the illness of denis we had already had the chance to play with nex in the Acer A-Split tournament. Kevin (kRYSTAL) and I instantly noticed that he is the kind of player we need to improve the team’s performance.

"In my humble opinion he is currently the strongest German player and also has a great personality. With strux1 we have the wanted top caller in our rows who also fits perfectly into the team personality wise. We are highly motivated for the upcoming year 2015 and hope to get the outstanding team that the German CS:GO scene deserves! Finally I will take the position of the new team captain and am wishing you all a Happy New Year!"

With these changes, PENTA Sports now have:

Top1 online robsen was their weakest link and they filled it with strux1, a decent IGL. I see potential in this one.

well, the best german team by far now(including mouz). Nex played really well with them in the Acer invitational a few weeks ago as a standing. We could start to see them getting bigger and bigger and hopefully reach the top10 or higher in 2015

Wow, both Penta and Dynamics had some big potential. Now they have taken the best from both teams. Some teamwork and the'll be easy top 7-10. And Khrystal getting a good team for once (Orgasm for us from 1.6)

This is a really promising lineup. I think it got the potential to be as good as the old mousesports team with gob b, cyx, tixo, Roman and Kapio. The scene needs a good german team, and I think these guys can even top the current mousesports team on LAN.

they seem to be the best ever created german csgo team up to this day and can crack the top 8, but dont compare them to real cs legends as u mentioned above who were consistantly top 3 to top 5 for several years including winning a number of majors. i dont see any german team reach the individual level the old mouz team had in the near future

It's actually the best possible thing which could happen to PENTA. They keep their 3 guys, so they have a place at the next major. robsen was bottomfragging in 90% cases. i wonder who's better though - denis or fe1ix, but it's them who should decide, right? i hope they will be in top10. 1-5. fnatic 1-5. the thing in germany is that they have a lot of good teams/players with the potential to do a lot more but not the ONE team which consists of all the best players, this new penta line-up is very promising imo. the best free-agent left is troubley but he will most likely join mouz.
