iBP lose CS:GO team?

iBUYPOWER's team have dropped a strong hint that they have parted ways with the organisation.

Last night, the North American team changed their name on ESEA's website from iBUYPOWER to Hugh Jass Construction, which sparked rumours of Sam "⁠DaZeD⁠" Marine's side and the organisation going their separate ways.

Meanwhile, team manager and iBP's Head of eSports Derrick "⁠impulsivE⁠" Truong seemed to confirm the news by tweeting "ibyebye :)".

iBP's team to switch organisations?

If confirmed, the move will fuel speculation about a major organisation shuffle in North America, with EnvyUs, Evil Geniuses, Counter Logic Gaming and Curse all being tipped to venture into the world of CS:GO soon.

There are two events on the horizon for the North American team, MLG X Games Aspen, from January 23-25, and Clutch Con, in Denver, a week later.

Hugh Jass Construction's lineup is the following:

They wouldn't leave iBP if they hadn't gotten a better offer. And I think they have. People say EG, but I think it is more likely that C9 will sign them and kick their current team. So im calling it! I don't think compLexity will bring them in as I don't think they can compete with EG and C9 on the salaries.

Could be CLG too. Some time ago the CEO or something said that they're interested in a CS:GO team. And I don't think C9 would let their team go this soon after signing Shahzam, just wouldn't seem like a good thing to do. My guess is EG/CLG/something else.

ex IBP Could make some decent coin from whatever org picks them up. 2015 is clearly going to be a big year for csgo with decent money to be made. These orgs know that and also know that exIBP are or should be the best american team next year. Due to this it makes sense that a bidding war could happen over them among the orgs interested. exIBP players should realise this and take advantage. Squeeze the org that goes for you dry!
