Torqued member Mohamad "mOE" Assad has admitted to being disappointed with MLG's decision to invite Liquid and not his team to X Games Aspen.

Earlier today, MLG announced that the former iBUYPOWER team had pulled out of the tournament, just days after new evidence of the players losing a CEVO match on purpose was brought up by The Daily Dot.

To replace ex-IBP, MLG invited Eric "⁠adreN⁠" Hoag's Team Liquid, one of the most promising line-ups in North America, currently sitting third in CEVO and eighth in ESEA.

But with Torqued currently topping CEVO's standings on a 6-1 record and having finished ahead of the former Denial squad in both MLG qualifiers, Mohamad "⁠mOE⁠" Assad feels his team should have been the one to be invited.

Feels really crappy to get overlooked like this when we are clearly the only team who deserves the spot, but im sure MLG had their reasons.

When you have people like sf or KQLY cheating, they are banned from any competition (and it is normal, it's like doping for other sports), but when you have a mOE cheating in a pug and buying cheat (the video), it is ok "it is an accident" or "it was just a pug". that's way out of context. on one hand you've got moe who tried to cheat against other cheaters because he was pissed off. he received his esea ban and had to deal with the consequences. on the other hand you've got people like smn, kqly, emilio, sf who bought private hacks to use them in official matches online and maybe even on lan. furthermore they were banned by VAC and not just by esea anticheat.

So answering cheaters by cheating too is a legit solution ? So every pro player can cheat in matchmaking because it is only matchmaking or in pugs, and then go play on LAN or official tournaments ? Let's compare to other classic sports, let's say soccer (football); if a famous player is doping himself during an official friddnly-match and it is proved he did it, he will be banned for several years (or more) from any official soccer competition and maybe not allowed to join clubs. And now let's say this player doped himself in a match with friends with no official rules he will be blamed and have a very bad reputation and maybe more. It is not normal to cheat and then dealing with no consequences. Hacking should be punished strongly, or people will just don't give a f!@#$ and this game will have issues. Just look at the few games that are leading the competitive scene : Starcraft2 + League of Legends + Dota2. Now check the hacking problem, they have minor issues with that, majorly people botting. I think the big issue here is Torqued being almost a pug team and some issues regarding the players. moe = cheated. dboorn = matchfixing. What difference would it make if ibp or torqued were in it? Some form of matchfixing from both teams was involved..

Understandable reasoning yet a team that finishes second twice in your qualifier and wants to go should be given the slot regardless of what happened earlier yet. Its also understandable that mlg doesn't want such negative things surrounding the tournament and instead opted for another team.

Torqued should be the ones to go to the tournament. I mean they were the number 2 qualifier. I don't even remember if Liquid or ex-Denial made it that far. I completely agree with mOE, Liquid is a very new team to the CS scene. I mean, it is the former Denial squad, and they have great players like Eric Hoag, but Torqued has been amazing as of late, and I think that they deserve the chance to play in Aspen. Plus, just imagine what it would be like to have Torqued play against NiP or fnatic. Well, fnatic is kind of a bad example but you know what I mean.
