A new Russian team comprising three players from USSR is created.

Featuring three former players from the now defunct USSR team—among them Anton "⁠tonyblack⁠" Kolesnikov who is known for playing for Na'Vi during 2013—and two relatively unknown talents, COMEBACK are currently participating in the ESL Major League and looking to make an impact on the Russian scene.

tonyblack will be the IGL for COMEBACK

The lineup of COMEBACK is:

Anton "⁠tonyblack⁠" Kolesnikov
Alexander "⁠lamp⁠" Noviy
Nikolay "⁠latro⁠" Lee
Vadim "⁠DavCost⁠" Vasilyev
Ivan "⁠spaze⁠" Obrezhan

tonyblack, lamp and latro were the three former players on USSR. With an original promising showing in SLTV Proseries IX, USSR cut a frustrating figure in the ensuing months, and dropped out of Starseries X before the season's completion.

DavCost is primarily known for playing on team OneShot, who played in Starseries XI, whereas spaze was last seen playing for Moscow Five until he left the team following their disappointing showing at the MCS Open.

Coincidentally, the team which knocked Moscow Five out of the quarterfinals of the MCS Open was a mix composed of four of the current players on COMEBACK aside from spaze.

lamp had this to say on the new team's composition:

"We are happy to present a new team, which consists of three players from our old team USSR and two fresh players. Back in time, our USSR team disbanded because of flamie leaving to dAT Team and some in-game disagreements with our AWPer Ivan "keepitreaL" Pisarev. Since that, we (me, latro and kibaken) have been always ready to build a new team, but we weren't sure who we should pick up in two free slots. After placing third on MCS Open, we felt that its a right time to make a comeback. So, we decided to bring in DavCost, one of the most talented AWPers and players overall i've ever seen, and spaze, calm and talented rifle.

We are participating in ESL Major League and also we are going to attend any online tournaments or qualifiers which we are able to. We have a good synergy of motivation, young and talented players and solid experience in kibaken's face, who will take role of our in-game captain, so we are looking forward to achieve a good level.

COMEBACK is noteworthy in that it is made up of mostly young players with two seventeen-year-olds and one eighteen-year-old on the lineup.
