dignitas and NiP to MLG semis

NiP versus KaBuM.TD was another do-or-die match after yesterday's upsets, but it was the Ninjas who confirmed their position of the favourites right from the start, starting off as Counter-Terrorists.

A won pistol round into an easy first gunround lead into a complete stomp by the Swedes, as up until the very last round of the half, they didn't drop a single round.

The last-round win offered a sliver of hope for the Brazilian lineup at 14-1, as they managed to win the second pistol round, as well as surviving the scary following eco, but NiP won the first gunround right off the bat.

Nothing more came of Gabriel "⁠FalleN⁠" Toledo's team when NiP got to match point, they were forced to buy desperately, and the game was done after NiP exchanged two for two on the B bombsite before Patrik "⁠f0rest⁠" Lindberg finished the map off at 16-3 with a quick triple.

In their last match against Cloud9, dignitas started as the offence on Dust2 and opened up with a split towards B in the pistol, which paid off as they downed Cloud9 to four in the beginning.

A couple of scout buy attempts on the American side didn't work out, and neither did any of the following gunrounds, in the first of which Kory "⁠SEMPHIS⁠" Friesen was unable to win a one-on-two on the A bombsite.

In round number nine Cloud9 finally managed to shut down dignitas' quick long push and capitalized on it in the following round as well before Nicolai "⁠device⁠" Reedtz won a one-on-one with Shahzeb "⁠ShahZaM⁠" Khan to pick up an ace.

From there on the North American side failed to deliver rounds on the scoreboard despite a double-AWP setup attempt, and dignitas were going over to the defence with a comfortable 12-3 score.

Early trades went in favor of Cloud9 in the second pistol for a four-on-three, but Peter "⁠dupreeh⁠" Rasmussen and Andreas "⁠Xyp9x⁠" Højsleth picked up two doubles while defending the final push on the A bombsite.

By then the match was almost over, Sean "⁠seang@res⁠" Gares' scout came to no fruition at all and in the last round his team had to forcebuy on low money, which was easy for dignitas to deal with, as they advanced to the semi-finals after a 16-2 scoreline.
