iBUYPOWER seek new team
iBUYPOWER have revealed that they are looking to support a new CS:GO team in the future following the match-fixing scandal in which their previous squad was involved.
The North American PC manufacturer's first adventure in the CS:GO world ended in disappointment as four players that were part of their team were caught fixing a CEVO match, which resulted in bans handed by Valve and the biggest tournament organisers in the business.
While the team and iBP went their separate ways on January 5, weeks before Valve intervened, the organisation state that the players' actions, which "are not in keeping with the philosophy of the iBUYPOWER brand", made the company severe their relationship with the squad.
"IBP is committed to supporting gaming at the highest levels, and expects each member of our staff and teams to perform to the best of their ability and conduct themselves with integrity at all times," a statement from iBP reads.
"Recently, IBP learned that certain members of the IBP CS:GO team failed to meet that expectation. The actions of these individuals come as a shock to us."
Despite the setback, iBUYPOWER stress that they remain committed to CS:GO and that they "look forward to building a new team to compete on the game’s biggest stages".
