In an exclusive video given to HLTV.org, fxy0 admits to "not playing their best" in the game versus OverGaming last year.

Last week Epsilon announced the removal of Robin "⁠GMX⁠" Stahmer from the roster. Shortly after GMX dropped a post stating that his teammates allegedly fixed the result against OverGaming in the season 17 of ESEA last year which ended 16-3 to the spanish side.

Epsilon chose to suspend their CS:GO roster pending further investigation. Meanwhile GMX wrote another post stating that ScreaM was innocent.

Joey "⁠fxy0⁠" Schlosser has now sent a video to HLTV.org where he admits to have played bad on purpose.

Whether this will result in any consequences for fxy0 and the rest of the team is not certain at this point as the investigation from both Valve and ESEA is ongoing.

Remember, there is also other sites, like egamingbets.com, where people actually bet real money. Its not just about lost skins on csgolounge. It is also about Valve, as being a creditable organization, which supports esports scene and makes it better for everyone. Also fixing a lost game with odds 54:46 and fixing regular game with odds 90+:10- isnt really comperable.

ahaha yeah; the set example was a little bit harsh, in my opinion (don't jump at me yet) but the thing is that, there aren't enough regulations in CS:GO. For example, in 1.6; I don't know if you watched 1.6 or not; but in those tournaments, you weren't allowed to use the config or your own settings; like you would have to go on their computers and set up your settings yourself; you couldn't bring your own autoexec.cfg file or config.cfg file like in CS:GO. I'm not saying I don't disagree with you but you have to look at it from Valve's point of view. (iBP was one of my favourite teams especially with the new line-up with Hiko; even Launders said that if they continued with that line-up; they could've been one of the top 3 teams in the CS:GO Community. He said it was a huge blow to the CSGO NA scene. Imo; Valve didn't have any rules about match fixing before because skins are still a new part of CS:GO; CS:GO release date was late August 2012? Skins came out about a year later August 2013 blog.counter-strike.net/index.php/2013/0.. and, it wasn't until early 2014; when CS:GO lounge became popular; so it's been about let's say a year of popularity. How could Valve take this into consideration? Valve respects each team (let's give them the benefit of the doubt) and how could a large company like Valve let a fixed match because of skins go away? CS:GO is getting more and more popular; and the match making/ VACation is causing bad publicity for the game. I don't think Valve knew that skins would become "this" popular and have such a monetary value. valve might not have known, but it was definitely their intent and fact that DOTA has had problems with this aswell I astonished they did not adresse this earlier. I have wished for months that somebody from orgs / valve would step out and draw a line for betting / throwing/ MM and all that shit. Because having csgl being the sole rule/decision maker worries me alot. Just basically with the addition of the money betting sites, I have no clue as to why valve have not set up rules saying that matchfixing equal banned from majors. I mean the rule is fair, but you cant enforce before ppl know the risk, thats kinda unfair. we need the G7 teams back. I dunno what valve should do know, as I said I think the rule is fair, but maybe since we might see alot of pros exit the scene, this should be enforce from now on, and then we pardon the guys this time (including IBP, if we do this for one we do it for all.)

yeah; I agree with where you're coming from, I don't want to go onto another topic; but I feel like Valve is finally like taking action despite what happened to iBP; like Valve really didn't do much against the mass amount of cheaters, especially whenever there was a CSGO Sale. It wasn't until recently where some of the professionals in the scene started to become VAC-banned; and news about match-throwing became more clear. Imo, Valve needs to work together or more closely with the professionals in the CSGO scene as well as keeping a watch on CSGL bets; like there HAS TO BE more regulation. Remember when Overpass & Cobblestone were added into the official maps; before ESL One Cologne 2014? Even professionals such as NiP's GeT_RighT commented on how Valve/Steam just kinda surprised them out of no-where without officially asking the 'professionals' who actually play the game everyday and know about CSGO Finesse (Finesse - taken from WarOwl's definition: Finesse is knowing every detail, every polygon, every pixel of the map, So that the slightest movement, the lightest touch, can result in a great victory.) Like a company as big as Valve/Steam, needs to work on this.

No, I agree with ragnjj. It's beneficial to the community if people take responsibility for the mistakes they do and admit them, even if it means denouncing teammates. Sure, GMX did it for the wrong reasons, and didn't have anything to lose doing it, but it doesn't change the fact that it's a lot better for the community that he did it. Keeping rotten players without knowing they're rotten is 1000 times more harmful to the scene than losing a top team because someone revealed what's behind the curtains.

Throw is a throw, but compared to iBP, this wasnt a big deal tho. People know that some teams dont go all in on online mathces, especialy if something is over (they dont have chance to qualify for lan/further competition, they qualify for lan and etc). I won a few bets on this type of match where underdog won against top3 teams in unimportant matches. Still, Valve is to afraid to check some teams i guess.

My thought was the amount of skins they won on the bet. Which also would be hard to repay. And if possible, they should make a item return to all the people who bet on the match that was fixed. That way people who bet didn't lose anything and the guys who did matchfixing will have to pay for it at the same time. And it also includes people who won on the matchfixing bet.

The problem is that then u have to take back all the skins from the betters who won too, because they don't come out of nowhere. And as i said if they made loose to people like 20000$ (assuming average bet is 1$) its not very fair if they just payback 200$ out of the 20000$ they "kinda stole" (even if they didn't get all of it, they kinda took it from someone to give them to others in some way) + U have to keep in mind that there's also people who bets real money on games... Deep shit bro, very hard to deal with and to make it fair for everyone afterward.. That just shouldn't happens, and for it to not happens again, there's only one solution : Make the sanction as harsh as it could be -> No more carrier. It's sad but they'll be examples so nobody does those shit again or atleast they'll think twice about it before.

I think that for a lot of people (wich is not my case) bets are the main reason they're watching all games and following the scene. Without it there would be less viewers -> less sponsors -> less cashprize -> less professionnals. It's actually a good thing overall but it comes with problems tho... The only important thing now is for Valve to choose wisely what they'll do. They just can't be gentle with Epsilon and harsh with iBP, they need to set a standard. Either diminish iBP's bans to 1 year and apply the same to Epsilon, or apply the lifetime ban to both of them.

First of all, my respect goes towards fxyo. Second this is not same situation, like iBP was in, iBP earned thousands of euros on fixing that match, and epsilon maybe a couple hundreds or something. If i was valve i would gave them ban for 6 months and removed their further matches from CSGOLNG.

By that logic, people will have only 3 months of ban if they make only tens of euros out of matchfixing? Match-fixing isn't only about how much money you got in skins. It's first and foremost a sportsmanship issue before being a money issue. I know that for a lot of people, these guys are assholes because they stole skins, but it's not the main problem at all. The main problem is that in a competitive environment, you can't have people fixing games, because it ruins the whole point of the environment everyone plays for. In that regard, Epsilon's and iBP's offense are equivalent. I doubt Valve wants to do a case by case sentence anyway. We'll see.

VP played that game offline and knew the winner of the match before bets got closed. I don't remember who won the game but as far as I remember VP had bets on the winner. We can't say it was a throw but it was abuse of the system. Also VP is known to lose games where they had high % and win games where they had low %.

Guy made a mistake and is going to pay for it whether he gets perma banned or not. The black mark it will leave on these players as far as joining teams and playing on any top tier teams is a fairly large punishment in itself. All of these players have put in so much effort to get to where they are and most of them are quiet young as most pro-gamer's & athletes start to decline in late 20's after hitting there peak and are bound to make stupid mistakes. I sincerely hope Valve put in some proper rules/regulations and fair punishments on such acts & also hope that these players get a second chance. This wasnt really a throw.. They could just as much lose the map while playing their best, infern owas OG's best map and they beat teams like VP on it. Sure, they got some skins out of it, but it wasnt really close to what happend in the iBP match. I think the Epsilon guys deserve some sort punishment but not a perm ban. Something like a ban until 2016 should be enough. People like m0e only got 1 year for CHEATING.

Alot of ppl talking about theres no rules or regulations regarding matchfixing. There's a couple of known cases in Sweden when ppl have gotten their knifes scammed. One guy in particular got the police involved, the scammer was found guilty of fraud and had to return the knife as well as paying a fine of a couple of hundred euros. This is kinda similar to that type of fraud.

Funny what csgo has become, examples like these just show why esport cannot be taken seriously. I mean I love the idea of international competition available to anybody who can obtain a PC conncted to the internet but when the creator of the game can basically set all the rules regarding everything it just gets more and more dubious. Of course some people won't agree to Valve's decision making in this case but the thing is that even if the majority of the community and organisations were against it, the other 95% of the playerbase would still play the game and invest money into it. I think that's one of the things most people tend to forget.
