Official: EnVyUs sign ex-LDLC

EnVyUs have confirmed that they have ventured into CS:GO by signing of the former LDLC team.

The DreamHack Winter champions parted ways with LDLC on Sunday after being tempted by a different organisation, with rumours suggesting that the players had agreed to join North American organisatioon EnVyUs.

Established in 2007, EnVyUs are a household name in the Call of Duty scene and have supported some of the most accomplished players in the history of the game.

French team move to EnVyUs

According to team captain Nathan "⁠NBK-⁠" Schmitt, the move will allow the team to scale greater heights as they look to defend in Katowice the major title clinched at DreamHack Winter.

“We are extremely proud to partner with EnVyUs. I have personally known Mike for 6 months, and it’s without a doubt that I believe this choice was the best for both parts," Schmitt said.

"What nV offers us is immense while providing us the liberty to develop ourselves as freely as possible.

"Our team is more than ready to dedicate our time 100% to provide this new home all the titles it deserves. It is time to write a new chapter in CS:GO history."

The French team will make their first appearance for EnVyUs this weekend at IOS Pantamera, with over $27,000 up for grabs.

Actually I felt pretty indifferent towards this fnatic lineup until that match against LDLC; now I'm a huge fan. Most entertaining clash of 2014 by far. Even the commentators loved it as it was happening. There's nothing better than when a team does something creative or unexpected to win.

For the official news, there's no time-stamp from Vakarm, since they updated the same post, so it's hard to tell, but HLTV posted it at 13:00 today, and most of the day-time comments from 02/02/2015 on the Vakarm page are after 13:00, so I guess Vakarm was 2nd again. And let's admit for a second that Vakarm would have been first. What's surprising about that? It's the French scene, it would only be natural for them to be more in touch with the players than HLTV is (even if I honestly doubt it's the case). When the report was made, both HLTV and Vakarm were probably refreshing the news page from the EnVyUs website to get the news fast, who cares who's faster at copy-pasting a statement, as long as both website give us the news in time? I think you're being very demanding from HLTV. I personally just enjoy having them giving us the news we're all waiting for, I don't mind at all waiting a few hours for it. When I saw the report, I already knew it was happening, I didn't need the official statement, even though I was sure it would follow. But sure, I admit that HLTV was slower than other sites. It's not really a problem in my opinion, since it was kind of confirmed already in my mind, but maybe HLTV is getting lazy, I don't know. With the US timezone that makes the news coming up in late evening, which is the time when Vakarm and HLTV posted their report. HLTV went inactive after that, Vakarm posted the official statement (I don't know at what time), and HLTV posted it at 13:00 today. It seems HLTV was slower than other websites, but I don't see how it's a problem as long as they give the news with a small delay. The report was everything anyway, there's no way Vakarm wouldn't verify their sources before posting that kind of big news. I wasn't waiting for confirmation, I knew it was happening, so the official news from HLTV wasn't something I was waiting for impatiently at all.
