Epsilon and ex-ESC get Valve bans

ESL has announced that Valve has handed bans to the ex-ESC Gaming team and to former members of Epsilon for their involvement in match-fixing cases.

With just days left before the offline qualifier for ESL One Katowice takes place, Valve has announced a fresh wave of bans as a result of match-fixing cases.

Epsilon and the former ESC Gaming team, both of whom had been invited by ESL to take part in the event, have been found guilty of match-fixing and have been banned indefinitely from all Valve-sponsored events.


ScreaM was deemed not guilty of match-fixing 

While the bans handed to all members of Epsilon except Adil "⁠ScreaM⁠" Benrlitom come with little surprise, the former ESC Gaming team's suspension is a shocking news that comes at a time when the players were about to join a new organisation.

Besides Epsilon and ex-ESC, the former ALSEN team, who were caught fixing an ESL match in October, have also received bans.

The following players have been banned from all Valve-sponsored events:

WinneR, who had secured a spot at the offline qualifier for ESL One Katowice, have been disqualified from the tournament as Valve continues its investigation into a match-fixing case involving the team.

To fill the spots that belonged to Epsilon and ex-ESC, ESL will host a last-chance tournament on Sunday with the teams that did not make it through the second European qualifier's Round of 16 and quarter-finals.

fxyo is a retard. and you might be as well. They are all banned indefinitely. That's not a life time. The bans are not up for review for 1 year. So they are not 1 year bans either. fxyo is dumb and thought that since it could be reviewed in a year it was a 1 year ban..

ESL's article said that ex-ESC and Epsilon are banned from Valve events until at least 2016, when the bans can be reevaluated. WinneR aren't actually banned (yet), but Valve is investigating them and they're disqualified in the meantime.

Every pro player to have ever placed a bet because they have info on a throw should be banned. Every pro player that decides throwing a game is worth it should be banned. They never had any regulations in place for this type of thing before all of this started up. When these match fixes started to surface they start banning players left and right. IMO they should have made them give back all skins, fined them, and then put the regulations in place for a potential life on ban from all valve events. That way all of the people who bet skins get theirs back, players understand that in the future they will have harsh consequences and we can still see all of these great players in action.

I'm pretty sure that rallen participated in this 100%. This guy is scammer. I asked him 6 moths ago, when he wasnt in ESC he was in one of low polish teams. He had like 100 skins, 10 asiimovs, 10 fire serpent etc. I asked him "how do you won so many skins man" - he bet all on polish teams, and then he said " maybe i have info ". So im pretty sure that faggot won't be unbanned. But i can say about szpero only good thinks - he is good boy, not like rallen - crafty pig. Btw. Valve can check logs with rallen's chat with me ^^

I still don't understand why you would throw a match for skins instead of having friends bet $1000's of real money on egamingbets. Surely there is more to be won that way and it would be much harder to prove for valve as they would have to rely on egamingbets co-operation and its much harder to trace actual money once it's left the betting site. All you would have to do is put all your money together, have a friend use that money to make a couple large bets on other games and then bet massive against your team, throw the game. Your friend then makes a few more sizeable bets before clearing out the majority of the winnings and from there, its easy to divvy out the money without it being easy to prove it..... I guess what I'm saying is, all these pros aren't exactly criminal masterminds or even clever enough to realise that throwing for skins was 1) stupid and 2) always going to be caught by valve eventually... Why would you use a trade system that the company who controls the game owns and operates? Because they are morons. Let this be a lesson, if you are going to throw.... at least be smart about it!!!!!!
