PiTER change two for Katowice

PiTER have announced that they will attend the offline qualifier for ESL One Katowice with two stand-ins.

The Russian team booked their place at the event in Poland, which will kick off on Saturday, after coming out on top of the CIS qualifier following a 2-0 victory over EYESports in the grand final. 

In the CIS Rising league, PiTER have got off to a great start, winning two of their first three matches in the tournament, so expectations surrounding the team's attendance at the ESL event were running high.

However, PiTER have now been dealt a heavy blow as they will travel to Poland without Savelii "⁠jmqa⁠" Bragin and Alexander "⁠spiker⁠" Ivanov, two players who faced visa problems.

To replace the missing duo, the Russian team, who will be supported by CIS Rising League chief Ermakov "MPKBK" Andrey, will be using former dAT Team member Aleksei "⁠ub1que⁠" Polivanov and ex-Virtus.pro member Dmitry "⁠hooch⁠" Bogdanov.

"When the players told me they could not go to the event due to visa and money problems, I decided to support them and fixed everything with my savings," Andrey told HLTV.org.

"The main reason to support them is to save future CIS qualifiers for majors. I hope that we will show everyone that young CIS teams can do damage in European events.

"I will go with the team to Katowice and support them as team manager."

PiTER, who will face Titan in the first round of the Katowice qualifier, will attend the event with:

no man, the case there is pretty common. jmqa is 17 y.o. so he cant make ID to travel around the world w/o his mother, but his mother left him for one week right after we've won that qualifer. and if you talk about me in my case making ID is a problem thing too, but i will get it only on monday. i mean it's not about political situation or smth. just russian rules and system to visit foreign countries.
